Eva returns home

Eva returned home, arms full with shopping bags. The gala had given Lexi the perfect excuse to go on a shopping spree with Eva as her test subject to play dress up with. It had taken ages before they finally settled on what to wear for the event - and to be honest, Eva was more relieved than happy that it was over. She was beat up after the week, and she needed rest more than anything.

She left the bags on the floor and headed to the bathroom, taking off all her clothes. After a quick shower, she dried herself and entered her bedroom, ready to sleep.

To her surprise, there was someone already there. She began to scream, but a hand over her mouth stopped her.

"Relax. It's me.", said the stranger, appearing behind her. She was shocked, but managed to nod. He removed his hand from her mouth as she turned around to face him.

As her heartbeat calmed down, she couldn't help but wonder how he had done that. She was standing at the door of her bedroom when she had seen him. In less than the time it took for her to scream, he had appeared behind her and closed her mouth. How on earth had he done that?

She noticed the stranger looking at her chest, and let out a tiny yelp when she realized why - her towel had dropped to the floor when she had been surprised by him. She turned red, bending over and picking it up before holding it around her chest. While they had seen everything before, she wasn't going to give them another show anytime soon - certainly not when they had entered her home without permission.

"How did you-", she began to ask indignantly, but the stranger interrupted her.

"Look, I'm sorry. I didn't want to. I would have come at a different time, but there were...complications. I promise I won't do it again unless you ask - but this is important, I swear."

The sincerity in their voice made her pause. The last time the two had met, the stranger had been playful and confident. This time, however, they appeared serious and...nervous? Like there was something or someone they wanted to hide from.

"What is it?", she demanded, refastening her towel as she did.

"It's about tomorrow. There's a guest there that I need you to get close to. Heard of M.C. Kaiser?"

"The...rapper? What on earth could you want from him?"

"Former rapper, present art collector, and the tip of the iceberg to something much more sinister. The buzz is that he's going to be involved in a high stakes transaction during the event."

"And? What's your angle here? Why do you care about this?", she asked, an eyebrow raised.

"Maybe you're familiar with Project Timeshifter?"

Eva's eyes went wide and her jaw dropped. "Hold on.", she said, moving past the stranger and into the kitchen. "Let me grab a coffee. Tell me everything."
