Episode 1: Meet the Contestants

Announcer: What would you do for a million dollars? Sixteen women… Battling one another… Living together… All fighting to keep their clothes on! Each win brings you one step closer to winning the grand prize! Each loss brings you one step closer to total nudity! Who will win? Who will lose? And who will lose more than just their clothes? THIS is Bared Essentials!

Outside, on a beautiful sunny day, the camera whooshes above the grounds of a sprawling modern-style California mansion. Inside, a woman stands in a magnificent foyer. She has long black hair, blue eyes, a beautiful Hollywood face and killer curves. She is wearing a low-cut, form-hugging dress, showing off her massive cleavage.

“Hello!” she says. “I’m Angela Wright, and welcome to Bared Essentials, the thrilling show of accomplishments and embarrassment! Over the coming weeks, sixteen beautiful women will compete in physical and mental challenges for the grand prize of one million dollars! But there’s a twist—every time one of our girls loses a challenge, she’ll have an article of clothing taken away… permanently! Now… let’s meet the girls!”

A group of smiling women, in all shapes, sizes, and colors, filed into the grand foyer. They lined up, facing the camera, smiling.

“Hi, ladies!” Angela grinned broadly, “come on in! Welcome to the mansion! Why don’t you all introduce yourselves to the audience at home?”

A montage of faces flashed by. The women introduced themselves one by one in confessional interviews:

(A woman with long brown hair, brown eyes, slim.) My name is Brenna Mitchell, age twenty-five, I’m from Atlanta, Georgia, and I’m a bartender.

(A woman with a light blonde bob, pale, slim, petite, medium sized breasts.) My name is Gwen Hart, I’m twenty-one years old, originally from Salem, Mass, and I’m a student at the County University of Newdale, New York.

(A Latina woman with long black hair, dark brown eyes, curvy, large breasts, insecure-looking.) My name is Liberty Morales, um, people call me Libby. I’m twenty-five years old, I live in St. Louis, Missouri, and I’m the manager at Eyebrow Shapers. We um, shape eyebrows.

(An Asian woman with long black hair, dark brown eyes, thin, toned.) I’m Naomi Lee, age twenty-nine, and I’m the performance art curator at Loft 96 New York.

(A woman with long red hair, green eyes, voluptuous, slightly chubby, large breasts.) Hi everyone, I’m Georgie Gramms, from Portland, Oregon, I’m twenty-eight years old, and I’m a flower arranger.

(A woman with short blonde hair, blue eyes, short.) Chrissy Brooks, age thirty-one, political consultant, Washington, D.C.

(An African American woman with loose curls, brown eyes, dark brown skin, fit, big smile.) Welcome to the show everyone, I’m Vivian Summers. I’m twenty-six years old, originally from Texarkana, Arkansas, currently a concierge at Milton Hotels, Houston, and I’m studying hotel management at the Collegiate University of Laredo Online.

(A woman with shoulder-length brown hair, brown eyes, slim, with an English accent.) My name is Penelope Brown, age twenty-seven, originally from Oxfordshire, currently living in Providence, Rhode Island, and I’m a nonprofit worker for Social Justice Worldwide. I came on this show because I wanted to get the word out about the many problems that affect… (cut off)

(A woman with long blonde hair, blue eyes, tall, thin.) Heyyy, shout out to all my peeps out there! My name is Haylee Honeywell, from Reading, Pennsylvania, @HayleeHoney on all my socials, and I’m America’s next hit pop sensation!

Director: How old are you?

Haylee: In my twenties.

Director: What year in your twenties?

Haylee: That doesn’t matter.

(A Latina woman with black hair, dark brown eyes, curvy, toned.) Yo, what up, bitches? My name’s Carmen Reyes. You best remember it, cuz I’m gonna win this mutherf*cker!

Director: Say the rest.

Carmen: Oh yeah, I’m twenty-six, and I’m a motherf*ckin security guard. East LA represent!

(A mixed race woman with long wavy black hair, green eyes, dark tan skin, short hourglass figure, large breasts.) One love, I’m Kiki Kalani, from Hale’iwa, Hawai’i. I’m twenty-three, and I don’t really define myself by what I do? I’m more about the vibe.

Director: But what do you do?

Kiki: All kinds of things. I surf, I snorkel, I paint, I hang out at the head shop…

(A woman with long dark brown hair, blue eyes, tall, curvy, lean muscles.) Macie McKnight, twenty-four, Omaha Tornadoes.

Director: (mutters something. Macie looks annoyed.)

Macie: It’s a volleyball team.

Director: I didn’t know there were professional volleyball teams.

Macie: Well there are!

Director: All right, no need to get defensive.

Macie: Everybody always asks me that. There are.

(A woman with shoulder-length blonde hair, brown eyes, tall. She is wearing a Live, Laugh, Love shirt and handmade jewelry.) Hey everyone! My name is Sharon Gosling, I live in Orem, Utah, with my darling hubby Shawn, and I’m twenty-nine years old.

Director: Really?

Sharon: Yes, really!

Director: Sure, whatever you say. What do you do?

Sharon: I’m an artist. And I want everyone to go check out my shop, SharonCrafts at Craftsy.web. I’ve got jewelry, wall art, pillow covers… (cut off)

(A Jewish woman with a black ponytail, dark brown eyes, thin.) Hey dudes and dudettes, I’m Sadie Sugarman, from downtown Chi-Town, waitress by day, sluuut by night. JK, LOL.”

Director: How old are you?

Sadie: Twenty-eight.

(A woman with long black hair, dark brown eyes, tan skin, rectangular black-rimmed glasses, hourglass figure, large breasts, with a French accent.) My name ees Anais Delarue, originally from Nice, now leeveeng in Intaircourse, Floreeda. I’m zirty-six years old, and I am a French professeur at IFU.*

(A woman with shoulder-length red hair, blue eyes, tall, pale, hourglass figure, huge breasts.) My name is Jane Harris, I’m thirty-three years old, I’m a corporate Human Resources director in San Francisco, and I want to go on record as saying this show is completely unprofessional. If people at my workplace tried to make me take my clothes off, I’d write them up for inappropriate conduct! Unless the company instituted a new dress code that required me to take my clothes off. In that case, I’d have… have to take them off. And then I’d be naked. At work. In front of everyone. And there’s nothing I could do about it.

The scene cut back to the mansion foyer, with all the women lined up in front of the host.

“Great to meet you!” Angela said. “I’m really looking forward to working with you this season. I’m sure you all have a lot of fun in store for us. Now, ladies, you all know why you’re here… to get naked on TV!”

Some of the women laughed or giggled nervously.

“I’m kidding. You’re here to compete against one another to win a million dollars!” Angela clapped her hands, and the women started clapping along. “Come on! Give it up!” she said. The women started cheering with her. After a bit, she added, “Of course, you’re also here to lose your clothes. This is a television show, after all.”

There was some more nervous laughter. The women’s faces were a mix of humorous, excited, uncertain, and unamused.

“Now, good luck on the challenges ahead. And remember, ladies,” Angela concluded, “clothing is a privilege, not a right!”

A series of confessional interviews appeared on the screen:

Brenna: Honestly, I was a little nervous. I had no idea what to expect.

Georgie: It was kind of exciting, actually. I’ve never done anything like this before.

Haylee: I guess any publicity is good publicity.

Carmen: F*ck yeah, bitches, I’m gonna win that million!

Sharon: (sarcastically) I bet my husband is going to love watching this.

Penelope: If I could just talk about gender inequality for a moment… (cut off)

Sadie: Are you kidding me? I could get naked in my sleep! Seriously, I sleep naked.

Libby: Oh God, what did I do?

Jane: I'll be perfectly honest, I'm doing this for the money. I would never get naked in my personal life, but I'm putting aside my personal feelings. I’ll do whatever it takes to win.

Kiki: Chillax, people. It’s all good.

Naomi: Well, there’s no turning back now.

Angela appeared on the screen again, by herself once more.
