Epilogue: Twyll Snowleaf

Twyll's return to her world saw her throwing herself into her magical studies. She obsessed over anything that offered longevity or immortality. Most of what she found turned out to be simple rumours or legends with no basis in fact, but she found a few actual leads. A number of spells and rituals or artifacts that could be used to prolong her life. As she worked to keep herself alive, outside of her life the other fairies slowly died out.

Eventually she was the only fairy left. An infamous figure. Her dabbling in all kinds of magic including those considered dark or forbidden had given her a reputation. She was a feared figure. Rumours of the methods she had used abound. Some claimed that she prolonged her life by draining it from others or by making pacts with horrid beings from another world.

Some of these rumours were true, some were not. Regardless she had succeeded in surviving, but it was a hollow life. Feared as she was she had no companions, the people she had known all died out leaving her all alone with only a world that feared her. She grew depressed and soon wondered whether it was worth it. Did eternal life have any real value if the life wasn't worth living? She lapsed on her magics, no longer bothering to ensure her life continued and instead started trying to focus on helping people. It was not easy, she was still feared and mistrusted, but she slowly managed to help people with her magic.

One day she looked in the mirror and saw an old woman. Her life no longer being prolonged was reaching it's end. She continued to work to help people as she felt her body slowing, her mind weakening until one day she couldn't get out of bed.

The people she had helped soon showed up to find her on her **** bed. When at last life left her and she went on to whatever afterlife may or may not await her those left behind mourned the **** of the last fairy.
