Chapter 3 by Zeebop Zeebop

What aspect of Sue Storm does Superia wish to enhance?

Enhance Susan Storm's Beauty

The attack on the Baxter Building was sudden. One moment, Sue Storm was folding laundry; the next moment, the alarms blared, and the walls flashed with arrows to direct inhabitants toward shelter. Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm had taken Frankllin and Valeria to the American Museum of Natural History so only Sue and Reed were in the topmost floors. Already in her costume, the blonde heroine went in the opposite direction that the arrows pointed, raced toward the danger.

The lab, where Reed Richards was.

The Invisible Woman was still visible when she burst into the laboratory at a run. Reed Richards, Mister Fantastic, was wrapping himself around a sphere of yellow energy. Visible through the folds was a tall, statuesque woman in a form-fitting black and orange costume, weapons in her hand. With a glance, she saw Sue enter the room—and the forcefield exploded outwards in a burst that both repelled Reed and seemed to momentarily cost him his ability to maintain a solid form. He sprawled across the metal floor, like a dead snake, utterly limp, features grotesquely distorted on his overstretched body.

The villain stared at Sue and raised some kind of raygun. Immediately, Sue Storm put an invisible field between them. Light flashed across the Invisible Woman's vision, so bright that Sue was momentarily blinded. So, blindly, Sue lashed out with an invisible wall of **** that crushed the villain against the wall and pinned her there.

Sue Storm blinked rapidly, in an effort to clear her vision. Yet the right fingers of the villian's hand touched a hidden control in her glove, and the trapped figured faded out of existence.

As Sue's vision cleared, Reed began to regain control of his form. He picked himself up, still distorted, but swiftly recovering both his poise and form.

"Who was that?" Sue asked.

"I recognize her from the files. Her name is Superia. A feminist villain who seeks to achieve a matriarchal future," Reed Richards managed. "Are you alright?"

"I'm fine. The shield caught whatever ray she zapped me with," Sue said. There were still shadows in her vision as she bent forward and picked up the odd ray gun. "What was she here for?"

"I don't know," Reed said. "I'm not even sure how she bypassed my security."

"Precision time travel. Transporting yourself milliseconds into the future or past, isolated in time but not in space, so that the natural rotation of the planet is accounted for," Doctor Doom said. "Clever. What did you hope to achieve?"

Superia smiled. She was in the hideout that the Latverian had prepared for her, running a dermal regenerator over her bruises.

"Hope? I achieved what I set out to do, Doctor. The Tachyon Enhancer is keyed to work with Sue Storm's cosmic-ray enhanced physiology. The effects will be visible quite soon."

"Mommy's so pretty!" Valeria said, in between bites of soft seafood tacos.

Sue smiled at the compliment. She needed it right now. Throughout the day, Sue Storm felt oddly different. Not unwell, just 'off.' Her movements seemed a little faster, almost jerky, which she attributed to nerves after the attack. The children didn't seeem to notice anything wrong.

It was when she stripped off her top that Sue recognized a physical difference in her body. She stared down at her breasts as she took off her bra. Normally, she wore a 34C—two full pregnancies had left her with a larger bust than the early days of her superheroine career, and the matronly chest included dark nipples with large areola, and prominent blue veins from when she had breastfed the babies.

Yet now she found the bra oddly loose. She stared at her breasts and frowned as she saw the nipples were smaller, and pinker. The blue veins had disappeared, the breasts seemed firmer, higher, like when she had graduated college. Then Sue raised her head and stared at her face. Really stared at it.

The blonde hair hid many fine white hairs. Makeup helped cover the nasolabial lines, the crow's-feet at the edges of the eyes, the laugh lines around the mouth. Now—now Sue Storm stared into a face she hadn't seen since she had kissed Reed Richards on their wedding day.

"I'm...young and beautiful!" she gasped.

Not bothering to put her top back on, Sue made her upper body invisible as she ran to Reed's lab, where he had Superia's weapon partially dismantled on a lab table. He looked up at Sue as she came in, worry in his tired eyes. Then he explained the situation.

What does Reed Richards determine has happened to Sue Storm?
