"I mean we definitely have the capacity to turn grenades into a trap in terms of like tripwires and the like, but the grenades aren't really timed explosives or proximity triggered, so unless we have something that can actually pull the pin on them, just putting them down somewhere for it to crawl over, doesn't have much use," Maple notes.
"The floors of the temple are sandstone, it's not the hardest material, but digging a hole in it will still be a bit difficult, though it is likely just sand as soon as you get past the stone. Are there any parts of the temple that aren't sandstone actually?" Lemiel notes, tapping her foot against the floor.
"Not really the basic structure of the temple, walls, floors and ceilings are pretty much all sandstone, I mean the dungeon has parts that aren't, but that's only because those areas were reinforced so they'd just be even harder to dig in," Hess admits. Her, Yulia and Cherchiel having come in as the Desert Mother left.
"So... digging pits is possible, but difficult and we can't really easily rig the bottom of the pit with grenades and expect them to reliably explode anyway," Lri summarizes and then sighs, "Okay I think the current plan might be a bit of a bust," she adds.
"When... The creature... grabbed me," Yulia starts, "it reared itself up and exposed it's underside. The voices are right it didn't do that earlier, but it did once it figured no one else was around or available. If we leave Talwa alone and let it grab her, it might expose itself if it doesn't think there's danger around," Yulia suggests. She's clearly still a little horny, but the effect is going away as the Desert Mother gets further from her.
"Ambushes are my specialty... so I suppose I should give my opinion," Lri adds, "using Talwa or someone else as bait isn't a bad idea, especially if as Yulia says we might be able to trick it into exposing it's weak point. That being said if it exposes itself and we just run in, it will probably just drop down again as soon as it sees us. We might get a few seconds of exposure at best. Oiling the ground was suggested and might be a good idea for negating it's rolling attack, but we'll also suffer trying to fight on slippery ground so if we went that route we'd have to be careful about either where we placed the oil or how we deal with the existence of the oil. If we do go with the bait option, I would suggest one of two possibilities. One is to have someone invisible nearby to get a good strike on it once it exposes itself, hopefully a strike that will either get it in one hit or that will make it harder for it to recover before the rest can swoop in or... we make the bait themselves a threat," Lri suggests.
"Make the bait a threat?" Isalia asks and Lri nods.
"Well... There's a few ways we could do that, but the most dramatic example would be something like... Giving the bait a grenade and when the creature grabs them and exposes itself they set off the grenade, of course that would potentially kill our bait as well and they'd have to be willing to accept great personal risk, but as said that's just the most dramatic option, we could also just give them some sort of hidden weapon and hope they can use it when the creature grabs them, something like that," Lri adds.
"I mean I like the oil idea, I don't think I'd have much difficulty moving on the oil, at least relatively, but I understand the rest of you would be quite badly hindered," Hess states.
"The people here are terrified of the Rack, clearly, but we might still be able to get them to help fight if we can convince them with a good plan," Cherchiel suggests and Maple nods in agreement.
"The creature does, occasionally leave the temple, not very far, just hanging around the entrance, but that area is just sand, not part of the temple at all, do you think setting up an ambush at the temple entrance might be a good idea?" Talwa suddenly cuts in, seemingly having recovered from her ordeal and trying to be helpful, she's still bound and dripping wet, but the Desert Mother's absence seems to have allowed her to recover her mental faculties.
"I... I also wouldn't be against the sacrifice plan... I've hurt my people so much, it would be only right that I sacrifice myself to help them now," she adds weakly, "I also heard a question about my spellcasting, I know Firestorm, Fireball and Great Fireball and have also mastered Magic Armor," she says sounding proud momentarily, despite still being bound face down with her soaking cunt on display.
"Oil plan... Bout stopping roll, right?" Goma asks suddenly, "why not use Pool? Moving hard in water," Goma chimes in.
"Isalia glances at Goma and then looks thoughtful, "fighting it in the pool in the bathing room... That's definitely an interesting idea," she agrees.
"So... we have a couple of options here... We can try to lure it into the pool in the bathing area to restrict it's movement, set up an ambush in the sand at the entrance or... let Talwa here sacrifice herself and fulfill her Martyr and Saviour complexes," Yulia repeats, clearly feeling much better as it seems The Desert Mother is now fully out of the temple.
