Engagement: Katie’s Morning

Katie Lawrence awoke to her alarm with a yawn. She looked over to her side and saw that Mark was still asleep; he had the day off and had been working late last night, so she let him sleep.

Rolling out of the bed, Katie is met by the frozen Hazel Weston, who was sitting on her bedside table while holding a lamp in front of her.

The black girl was dressed in her cheer uniform, which was black and green with the initials of their school on the chest. The skirt only went down mid thigh, which showed off her long slender legs, which were capped by white tennis shoes, instead of a sweater, she wore a vest that showed off her arms.

It had been two weeks since Hazel and 8 other seniors on their high school cheer team and been frozen in time. Katie didn’t know what thoughts Regina gave to everyone, but no one seemed to care the girls had disappeared. Katie even thought they might be able to get the remaining three girls from the team who were not frozen without raising a fuss, but that was a talk for another time.

“Good morning Hazel”, Katie said to the frozen girl. Hazel did not respond, her dark eyes staring forward while she held out a light to anyone who needed it. “Keep up the good work”, Katie said as she leaned in and gave the paused cheerleader a kiss on her still lips. Katie quickly got dressed and left the bedroom, not acknowledging Hazel’s teammate Darya, who was posed identically on the other nightstand.

Katie was planning go on a solo morning run and was dressed for it. She headed downstairs directly towards the main hallway and grabs her running shoes from Nicole Moss, who was posed on her hands and knees with shoes along her back, also dressed in her cheer uniform. Her position as a shoe rack was only temporary until they got the equipment to make her into a chandelier doing a split up in the air. Katie grabs a light jacket from their Taylor Anderson coatrack and heads out.

As she runs her route, Katie is surprised to find several people out and about, she hadn’t overslept had she? Katie checked her phone and confirmed it was the correct time. It must be an odd one off she thought.

Ever since she and Mark had started freezing and collecting people, she found she had a hard time not imagining random strangers as frozen dolls. She knew she needed to work on this since she couldn’t freeze everyone, especially with the limited amount of space in the house.

Katie saw all sorts of people on her run, and once again kept imagining them as dolls. Older teen still on a paper route, doll; girl who is skating to school, doll; real estate agent trying to get the jump on a house, doll. It was getting really bad, so Katie decided it cut her run short and head home where she can play with her existing dolls.

It wasn’t until she was at the door that Katie remembered she had class that day, and would need to head soon to that. The Latina groaned at the thought, but knew it was an important step to one day get to the Olympics.

Once inside, Katie grabbed some regular clothes and made a beeline for the shower. She briefly greeted Christina Bates (a TP holder) and Zoey Glass (a towel rack) before stepping into the shower. Despite being in a bathroom, both girls like their teammates were dressed in their cheer uniforms.

As Katie let the water rush down her naked form, she couldn’t help but smile. Tonight she and Mark had a date, and she thought she knew what he was going to do. She was excited either way, and could only let her imagination run wild.
