End of mission

You blink. You thought you had seen a spark coming off the hammer in Scarlet's hands, although you're not sure if it's your imagination, wishful thinking or real. After admiring the hammer silently for a while, Scarlet looks at you with a smirk.

"Wait here," she says.

"Hey, what about this bracelet? I did what you guys wanted-" you start to protest, but Scarlet just ignores you and leaves with the hammer. You briefly consider using your magic rings to snatch the mythical item from her, but at the end of the day, the Bureau of Oddities and Abnormalities still has the ultimate leverage over you. Unless you can get the bracelet off or even just find the dog your life is now bound to, you're pretty much at the mercy of the Bureau.

The woman in red is gone for a long time and you're starting to think she's not coming back, when she returns. She's not alone this time. The chief is with her and he looks pleased.

"Well done. I'm told you did well," he says, standing with his hands behind his back.

"I did," you respond. "Now, let me go."

The chief chuckles. "We never promised you anything. But, I'm not unreasonable. Let me think about your situation and we can discuss it tomorrow. She'll show you to your room," the chief nods at Scarlet and he turns to leave. You want to curse at him or plead your case, but you know it's useless so you shut your mouth in resignation. After the chief leaves, Scarlet leads you out of the holding room. You see that the Bureau is housed in some fancy office building although there appears to be no windows at all. You follow Scarlet into an elevator and she pushes the button for the 13th floor. There are 50 floors in the building. You wonder where you are or if you'll ever find out.
