Kevin Burgmeyer - The Dungeon Master

Age: 37

Race: Human

Class: Favored Soul

Description: Just above average height, with short brown hair and unremarkable features, Kevin has kept his weight under control but never emphasized physical fitness.

Background: The only human in the party, Kevin was unaware of the existence of magic in his world until he was summoned by Lily, the hostess of the season. His life has followed a relatively quiet and sedate path - while he has been in relationships, none have lasted more than a few years. His job in IT has allowed him enough free time and money to indulge his hobby of running Tabletop Roleplaying Games (TTRPGs) without ever suspecting that his detailed world building would be noticed by a supernatural entity and brought to life.

Abilities:

Favored Soul — House Rule

(Passive) Your senses extend into the realm of magic and divinity, allowing you to directly perceive the forces acting upon your environment.

(Active) Make one modification or change to the rules of an effect, as long as that change has been performed before at least once in Harem Hotel history.

Penny Sierran - The D10

Age: 38

Race: Siren

Class: Bard

Description: Penny’s heritage graced her with an appealing figure that has grown more lush with age. With a generous set of curves, a pretty face that has been softened by age, and a voice that has driven men to the brink of madness, the blonde siren carries herself with the confidence of someone who has commanded attention on the stage for decades.

Background: Penny grew up in a family aware of their supernatural heritage. Her mother bore only daughters and Penny still loves her family, but she sought her own path at the age of eighteen has has only seen them infrequently. Instead, she has spent her adult life attempting to succeed as a performer on her own merit.

Abilities:

Bard — Performer

(Passive) Anyone who watches you perform in an artistic fashion will find themselves motivated by the message your performance conveys.

(Active) Once per hour you can assume a role. You will portray whatever character you choose believably, including through the use of minor magical abilities where appropriate.

Tess Joenson - The D12

Age: 21

Race: Selkie

Class: Psychic Warrior / Ranger

Description: Tall and athletic, Tess is ethnically Faroese but bears the mark of her Selkie heritage in the form of her uncontrollable white hair. She has kept it cut short in an attempt to minimize its impact on her swimming, but it remains her most distinctive feature.

Background: Tess is the older of two sisters. A star athlete and scholar, she has carefully balanced her life goals in an attempt to achieve success in multiple disciplines. Her sister was a constant presence in her life until Tess left home for college and both Joensons got their first taste of independence. That ended shortly before the season began, though, and both have been trying to figure out the new balance in their lives.

Abilities:

Psychic Warrior — Flexible Shape

(Passive) You gain perfect control of your body’s movements and muscles.

(Active) For the next hour, you can reshape your body into a physically powerful form appropriate for combat or other heavy physical activity.

Ranger — Familiar Spirit

(Passive) You gain heightened senses through your bond to a familiar spirit. You can rapidly assess the nature of a creature or area.

(Active) Once per day, you can call upon your familiar spirit to assist you with a task. While assisting you, you can communicate telepathically and share your senses.

Elsie Jones - The D20

Age: 27

Race: Brownie

Class: Artificer / Diviner / Erudite

Description: Short, skinny, and mousy, Elsie has brunette hair and a face younger than her twenty-seven years of age would suggest. Her movements are quick and jerky at times, but when she sets down to work on a task her ability to focus is second to none.

Background: Elsie was born in England to a family that passed down superstitions without ever believing that they were living them. Their heritage as brownies had been dismissed as legend for generations, but the stories led her to embrace reading fantasy novels and fairy tales. That eventually led her to be the only other tabletop gamer in the group and the only one other than Kevin with a decent grasp of what that’s likely to mean for the adventuring party.

Abilities:

Artificer — Useful Little Tool

(Passive) You gain a sense of needs of the party. Stronger needs are sensed more urgently.

(Active) Spend a few minutes working with whatever materials you have at hand to create a small magical tool that will last for the next hour. Once per day, you can either create a larger magical tool, or make a small tool permanent.

Diviner — Portent

(Passive) At the beginning of the day, you are granted visions of two possible future moments from the next twenty-four hours.

(Active) You can lean on fate to take control of random chance. Twice per day you can steer any random outcome towards the best possible outcome.

Erudite — Sensate

(Passive) Your ability to retain experiences, adapt to them, and learn from them is greatly increased.

(Active) By focusing on a magical effect that you can see or experience, you can store a version of it to use later.

Hwa Sun-Ah - The D6

Age: 418

Race: Kumiho

Class: Warlock / Witch

Description: Hwa appears most frequently as a pale Korean woman with nine fluffy white tails. Physically she appears to be in her mid thirties, with a womanly figure designed to keep men off-balance and distracted, and smooth rounded features to her face. Thanks to her vote having ended in a tie, she now features metal bands around her wrists and ankles which trail short lengths of dark metal chain, as well as a golden metal collar.

Background: The undisputed ruler of the Hamgyong Mountains, Hwa has ruthlessly crushed every attempted incursion into her lands since she claimed them. Only those who bow their heads to the fox-spirit are permitted to dwell in her wilderness, while those who resist are devoured to fuel her magic.

Abilities:

Warlock — Binding Bargains

(Passive) When you are telling the truth, everyone who hears you will believe you.

(Active) Make an agreement with another individual binding. As long as both parties consent, neither party will be able to renege without the other’s agreement.

Witch — Dark Rewards

(Passive) Gain a sense of nearby sources of magic. Stronger magic can be sensed more strongly and from farther away.

(Active) Open a connection to a nearby source of magic to modify, lessen, or heighten its effects. If the source of that magic is conscious, it can exert its own will to either heighten or counteract your efforts.

Stheno - The D8

Race: Gorgon

Class: Antipaladin

Description: Thanks to Stheno’s Antipaladin-class ability, she has gained the ability to push back the curses of the gods and retain something similar to her original human appearance. This power is limited, though, and if she fails to fuel her power through acts in defiance of her pantheon, she reverts slowly to her cursed form. In it, Stheno appears as a young Greek woman from the waist up, with delicate features and a slender frame, but her hair is a nest of living serpents. From the waist down, her body morphs into that of a massive serpent a dozen or so feet long, though even before she was summoned by Lily, with enough effort she could push back the curse enough to shift herself back to having legs for a time.

Background: The daughter of a monstrous sea-god and a surprisingly beautiful monster, Stheno’s life was forever altered due to the capricious whims of the gods. When her youngest sister was **** by Poseidon in the temple of Athena, the Goddess cursed her entire family. Medusa’s fate became the stuff of legends, but the elder two gorgon sisters were immortal. No blade could harm her, nor arrow find its mark in her heart, and by now Stheno has born her curse for millennia without any sign of escape.

Abilities:

Antipaladin — Curse Bearer

(Passive) Performing an act in desecration of a god grants you a boon of magic for the next 24-hours.

(Active) Consume a magical effect to absorb it’s energy. Energy absorbed can be used to fuel and empower a boon.

Hazel - The D100

Age: 147

Race: Nymph

Class: Druid

Description: With curves for days and wheat-blonde hair, Hazel personifies the abundance of nature. There is no part of her that isn’t built to form, from her broad hips and thick thighs to the well rounded ass and buoyant chest of a fertility goddess. Thanks to her class transformation, her lush figure is very much on display, as the only thing she now wears are the vines that wrap around and embrace her like lingerie.

Background: Nymphs don’t keep track of years the way humans do, most of the time, but Hazel is an exception. She has always found the activities of humans to be fascinating, and took up with a small commune of them in northern California around the turn of the last century. The members of the commune have changed, but Hazel is always there to make sure the crops fill bellies and the animals young are healthy, no matter what storms and disasters may fall.

Abilities:

Druid Au Naturel

(Passive) Nature provides you with a better outfit than any mortal garb. Your body is wreathed in plant life that comforts and protects you in all conditions, allowing you to endure even extremes of temperature without discomfort.

(Active) Take control of nearby plants and command them to bind and restrain someone.

Blue - The D4

Age: 77

Race: Harpy

Class: Monk

Description: Blue’s class came with a physical transformation. She now appears as an athletic and well built woman who is just over five feet tall. Her arms are far more human than the wing-like limbs she’d had, with only a single ridge of feathers along them to reveal her origin. The plumage on her head was somewhat spared, leav her with a short crop of blue feathers for hair which frame a shockingly attractive face with curious yellow eyes.

Background: The harpies of the Andorran mountains are reclusive in the ****, having taken advantage of the isolated nature of the peaks to hide from humans for millennia. Long lived and slow to adapt, the flock occasionally takes mates—willing or otherwise—from whatever human settlements they can to bolster their numbers. Blue was one of the last born before the proliferation of humans meant the flock’s chances to steal one away diminished. As a result, she grew out largely without humans in her life. Unlike the others, however, rather than fearing the wingless, Blue finds them fascinating, and she has spent recent years spying on any she can find.

Abilities:

Monk — Enhanced Body

(Passive) Your body is sculpted into a form suited to serve your party. Your physical stats are increased and your physical needs diminished.

(Active) You can speed or slow your perception of time.

Lily - The Hostess

Age: None of your business

Race: Succubus, probably

Class: Wouldn’t you like to know.

Sex: Ooh, yes please.

Description: Lily has big tits, big hips, a big ass—generally a body built for sin, with a face and voice to match. It’s almost enough to make you forget that she sports leathery wings and that sometimes the tips of her fingers look a lot like claws.

Background: Lily takes obvious joy in hosting her season of Harem Hotel. Confident to the point of arrogance, she has shown a willingness to lean into a transformation if she thinks that it will result in the success of the season.

It remains to be seen if that approach will work out for her as well as she clearly believes that it will.
