End Chapter 2 Summary and Character Info – 2A-HH

Story Summary

After introductions at the adventurer’s guild, Kaylen was surprised that the first candidate to come forward was his own sister, Lyria. He accepted her onto his team, followed by the half-giant, Ursa Cloudwalker. After some marksmanship demonstration he chose the halfling Alayni Swiftfoot as his team’s scout/marksman, then after some more demonstrations chose the half-elf Vesili Tenorei to fill the rogue role on his team. Finally, he and the guild master went to the Cathedral where they were introduced to Sister Alanthea, a healer and priestess of Mortanius, the final member of their team. Back at the guild, they selected a mission to investigate reports of giant spiders in a nearby logging town.

Important Characters

Kaylen Gallowglass

Kaylen is an 18 year old generalist red mage who recently gained the rank of adept and has been granted the opportunity to lead his own adventuring party. He has had difficulties in his life when it comes to romance, and that has led him to the idea of forming a party of mostly female teammates in the hope that becoming accustomed to working alongside someone like him will allow one or more of them to become a romantic prospect at some point in the future.

Lyria Gallowglass

Kaylen’s sister, Lyria is a few years older than him, and a few inches shorter. She’s been training with a sword since before she was a teen, and now fights as an armored greatswordsman, and was the first to be recruited by Kaylen for his team.

Ursa Cloudwalker

Ursa is a rare half-giant, standing 8’4” tall with a long build strong with muscle, at least compared with most smaller races. She carries a round shield and one-handed spear sized for her frame, and fights as a defensive shield bearer. She was the second to be recruited by Kaylen for his team.

Alayni Swiftfoot

A curvy halfling with curly brown hair and dark brown eyes, Alayni isn’t a particularly imposing figure, but she stands out with confidence and bravado if nothing else. She was something of an unpopular pick among adventurers until Kaylen chose her, and she says she wants to travel and have new experiences. She seems to be willing to flirt and even engage in some amount of intimacy with Kaylen if necessary for her to remain on the team.

Vesili Tenorei

At under 5 feet, Vesili can easily pass as a teenager, until one notices the pale grey slightly bluish skin, tapered ears, and large violet eyes that reveal her dark elven heritage, though her black hair and the short length of her ears mark her as only a half elf. Despite being raised by her human mother, Vesili has been bullied and persecuted all her life, forcing her to learn to be sneaky and grow thick skin. She was very grateful to be chosen for Kaylen’s team since he seems to be willing to look past her heritage and give her a chance.

Sister Alanthea

A tall slender woman with long blond hair and vibrant blue eyes, Alanthea can come across as cold, uncaring, even distracted. She has been interested in becoming an adventurer for quite some time, and is grateful to Kaylen for recruiting her, even though he didn’t really have many options. A disciple of Mortanius, god of ****, Alanthea may be a skilled healer, but she can also be a bit unsettling.

Tyrell Norrison

The guild master of the Adventurer’s Guild, Tyrell helped advise Kaylen as he made his selections for his team.

Marius Dantes

An associate of Master Norrison who accompanied them as Kaylen formed his team.

Aranni Rylan

The master of the Mage Guild, Aranni is a short woman with dark brown hair. She wears grey robes that cover her from neck to ankles and matching gloves, though she used to dress more provocatively when she was apprenticed to the Archmage, Master Graun. She provided introductions for Kaylen to the guild master of the adventurer’s guild, Master Norrison.
