End: By The Time The Justice League Arrives, Blaze Has Escaped

There came, at last, a knock on the bathroom door. Lois Lane tensed, a towel draped around her...but then she heard his voice.

"Lois? It's me. You can come out now," Superman said.

Hesitantly, Lois cracked open the door...and felt a sense of relief as she saw a familiar pair of blue eyes staring down at her, the S-shield emblazoned on that broad, muscled chest. Behind Superman, she saw other members of the Justice League. A female Green Lantern held her arm out, a beam of green light playing out across the black stains on the reporter's wall and carpet. Wonder Woman picked the bit of meat that had been Blaze's tongue and dropped it into an evidence bag covered with holographic pentagrams. Zatanna and Doctor Fade were waving their hands and mumbling to each other.

Batman emerged from the kitchen with a steaming cup and slipped past Superman to offer it to her.

"Thanks," she said, taking the cup of tea from him.

"You look like you could use it," he said, and Lois noticed that he and Superman effectively blocked her from leaving her bathroom. The reporter sat down on the toilet and took a sip. The hot liquid felt good sliding down her throat.

"So...you guys got her? Safely locked away?" Lois said.

"No," Batman said, with his deep, gravelly voice that put the chill down many a criminal's spine. "When we got here, Blaze had already escaped. The magicians are trying to track her, but powerful as she is, the odds are that she's gotten away."

Lois Lane's eyes widened.

"So...what does that mean?" she asked.

Superman stared at her gravely.

"Zatanna and Doctor Fate are worried about...repercussions. Demons aren't known to forget being bested. They think there's a high likelihood that after licking her wounds, Blaze will come back for you for ****," the Man of Steel took a deep breath. "Which is why we'd like you to seriously consider entering protective custody."

Lois Lane blinked. "We're not talking about a new name and plastic surgery, are we? Because I can't just leave my career...my life..."

"With supernatural threats, normal protective custody measures aren't effective," Batman said. "We are prepared to help you relocate to a secure location, a place warded against supernatural intrusion. We can set you up to work remotely, arranged for one of the League to accompany you when you have to leave. Just until we can track Blaze and capture her. But for now, we have to get you out of town. As soon as possible. Tonight."

The reporter's shoulders slumped. A part of her couldn't believe this...but then she thought about how she'd clawed at the demon's eyes, bent her cock back and **** the demon to fuck herself. She stared at her own hands...she'd cleaned and bandaged the wounds, but the scratches in her palms from handling the scaled shaft of the scarlet succubus were still there, still hurt.

"Where?" Lois asked.

Which is how, as a literal cock crowed outside of her window, Lois Lane found herself in the mother-in-law suite on the Kent farm in Smallville, Kansas. Her books, clothes, and other household goods were piled up in the empty rooms by a red blur. Ma Kent, who rose early in the morning, had given her the tour: the kitchenette, bathroom, guest bedroom with an ancient queen-sized bed frame. Superman had laid down a new mattress and boxspring and even made the bed as Ma explained the history.

"Originally, this was the **** quarters. Of course, the Kents were freestaters; they helped the family living here move to a freedman's town. When I married Pa, my mother lived here for a time, though she passed before Clark came along, and it used to be something of a playhouse...he called it his 'Fortress of Solitude,' if you can imagine! Pa and Clark spent the summer rehabbing the place...fixed all the plumbing, new coat of paint, they even installed that Wi-Fi and fiber optic line when we ran it out to the main house. Not that I do much on the internet, but sometimes it's the best way to keep in touch with Clark when he's busy..."

Clark Kent had come in just as Superman had left. He sheepishly pointed at various hex-signs that had been carved into the wooden beams of the house.

"The whole farm is warded, but Zatanna and Doctor Fate have taken special care here. You'll have the run of the place all to yourself...complete privacy...although you're welcome in the house day or night..." he said. "And, um, I can come visit regular, just to make sure you're not lonely..."

Lois reached over and gave one big, haystack-lifting bicep a squeeze. His cheeks burned, and Ma Kent smiled quietly. The reporter wondered if she was hoping the Kent's mother-in-law suite might become a daughter-in-law suite...and looking at Clark's chin, she wondered that herself.

Exhaustion, however, overcame all else. She didn't even unpack, as the various Justice Leaguers said their goodbye, and Ma Kent assured her she could come over whenever she was ready for a meal. Leaving Lois Lane alone at last, collapsing onto her new bed, in her new house, far away from Metropolis and all the events of her night out...

Like always, her thoughts turned to the events of the day. Brain unwilling to drift off immediately to sleep. She thought of all that had happened tonight, of Blaze's strange appearance, of their final confrontation. The words that had tumbled out of the reporter's mouth in that last mania.
