Emmaline lands a lucky fireblast

The heavily armored Gnolls were closing in on Emmaline and Liv, with nothing protecting the two from their wrath other than the short distance that the tree they were hiding in afforded them. Knowing full well that Liv was next to useless in close combat, Emmaline realized she needed to do something.

Moving without thinking, Emmaline jumped down from the tree, catching herself nimbly on her hands and doing a quick flip to lose the momentum of the fall. She landed only feet away from the group of elite Gnolls. The Gnoll closest to her bared his teeth and stabbed at Emmaline with his spear, but she danced out of the way, sticking out her tongue. With a series of angry yaps, the armored Gnolls converged on Emmaline, stabbing and slicing at her, but the dancer was able to keep her distance, content to draw their focus away from her friends.

"You're not very good with those rods, are you? Maybe you need someone to show you a thing or two!" Emmaline teased, forgetting in the heat of the moment that the Gnolls almost certainly had no idea what she was saying.

Confident in her ability to dodge the Gnolls attacks, Emmaline summoned two small flames in her hands, holding them like a waiter balancing plates as she bobbed and wove.

"Lemme show you how its done!" she exclaimed, as suddenly one of the flame expanded, growing hotter and hotter into a small inferno. Emmaline heaved the blast directly at the center of the Gnolls. Though they tried to dodge out of the way, their heavy armor slowed them down, bringing their movement to a crawl as the ever expanding fireball blasted into them.

Tormented shrieks and howls rang out as the Gnolls were boiled alive in their armor, Emmaline grimacing at the grizzly display that was her defeated foes.

"You did good, me" she congratulated herself, looking to see how the rest of the group was doing.
