Emily and Deondra

Emily sat back, reading a book by the fireplace. She stretched out, feeling healthier and happier than she ever had. And she had Deondra to thank for it. The older Black woman had been reading too, but had fallen asleep. Emily smiled, looking at her. She never thought she'd end up in a lesbian relationship, but she had. And it was right for her, in this time and place. She snuggled up with Deondra happily.
