Elmeria's consultation

Elmeria sat on a couch at the Lux Sanctus, a cup of tea sat in front of her and sitting beside her sat Tomoko, holding her hand out, her finger still coated with the strange dust. Elmeria held Tomoko's hand carefully, her own hand encased in gloves just in case. She examined the dust on Tomoko's fingers and then released her hand and took off the gloves, before grabbing the cup of tea and taking a sip.

"Well, Elmeria? What is it?" Tomoko asked eagerly.

"Patience, I'm thinking. There's a couple of possibilities, but considering how you found it..." Elmeria says and then takes another sip.

Tomoko waits patiently, but after a few seconds she's clearly getting antsy, "Well?" she asks and Elmeria places down the cup of tea.

"It's angel dust, but corrupted," Elmeria explains finally.

"What? I don't understand?" Tomoko asks.

"When a divine being casts a miracle it leaves behind a holy residue, often called Angel dust. The rumour is that it falls from an angels wings, but honestly it's probably just a form of magical crystalization. Miracles take a lot of power, it's not altogether surprising that it would leave some physical remnants," Elmeria continues and then sighs, "but in this case, this angel dust is corrupted by darkness, which should be impossible. It would mean well... That a darkness creature used a holy miracle," she added.

"A holy miracle... Cast by the Darkness?" Tomoko repeats.

"Yes, which is impossible of course. Only a creature blessed by the light could cast a miracle like that. Actually not even then. I'm blessed by the light and even my own powers don't leave behind angel dust so whoever cast this would have to be a divine being themselves. An angel or the like, but... Again it would have to be some kind of angel of darkness," Elmeria continued.

"What like a fallen angel?" Tomoko asks and Elmeria gently, but firmly whacks her on the forehead with two fingers.

"Don't be silly. Angels don't fall. They are creatures of utter purity, made directly by the light. They can't change sides!" Elmeria corrects her angrily.

"Ow... But... But what about Runa?" Tomoko suggests and Elmeria huffs.

"Runa turned to the light, because it's natural for the darkness to be disloyal and the Light is the correct side, no light creature would debase itself by changing to darkness though!" Elmeria responds confidently.

"So... Then what happened?" Tomoko asks and Elmeria's confidence immediately fades.

"I... Don't know. It's impossible for a dark creature to have access to miracles," Elmeria responds.

"And it was on Alka..." Tomoko presses.

"Which would mean that some dark creature cast a light miracle on Alka..." Elmeria admits.

"She seemed a bit... weird do you think it's related?" Tomoko asks and Elmeria looks nervous.

"It could be. We should send someone to check on Alka, make sure she's okay and uh... I'll go check out Alms Amour," Elmeria suggests.

"Alright, but... If whatever this was was able to do this to Alka you be careful..." Tomoko says and Elmeria smiles confidently.

"Alka is strong, no doubt about that, but if this creature has access to Miracles, then they're using my domain and there's no one alive who can out miracle me," she says and then seeing the fear on Tomoko's face she sighs, "I'll be careful. I'll bring the full might of the Light Inquisition with me and if we run into any resistance I'll retreat," she promises and Tomoko nods and hugs her.

"Thanks Elm," she says and Elmeria pushes her away.

"Ugh... Don't hug me. We're two grown women of importance, we don't go around hugging people. Act more dignified!" Elmeria chastises her and then stands. Tomoko smiles and then tilts her head.

"My apologies, Archbishop Elmeria Levantine," she says her voice playfully mocking which makes Elmeria put on a disappointed expression, though to Tomoko it just looks like a cute pout, "will you not finish your tea before you go?" Tomoko adds and Elmeria hesitates and then sits back down.

"Okay, but just because it's rude to leave without finishing ones tea," she says and sips from her tea as Tomoko puts an arm around her shoulders and Elmeria tactfully ignores it.

A few days later Elmeria arrived in Alms Amour, it had taken a bit to gather together the inquisition and when she arrived she found devastation. The once shining city of Saluma and the revered city of Kia Marun were destroyed, the other cities were all besieged, monsters spread over the land, survivors in Saluma hid in what few buildings remained and were able to be fortified as monsters prowled the streets.

There was no organized power directing the monsters however and Elmeria's troops were able to clean it up easily. the city of Kia Marun however was lost. A monster had emerged from the Desert and wiped out the city now using it as a nest. Nothing in the city had survived it's arrival and though Elmeria could probably best the creature, it wasn't worth it. The creature would remain in the city of Kia Marun as long as it wasn't disturbed and she'd be embroiled in multiple days of fighting to wipe out such a creature. Something she didn't have time for. She had learned about the last days of Alms Amour from a survivor in Saluma, the commander of the now non-existent city watch and she had to report what she had learned to Tomoko, things were potentially much worse than they had thought.

She'd have to return at a later point to deal with the creature, for now though she left some troops behind to evacuate Alms Amour, the country was being reclaimed by the desert and for now they didn't have the time or resources to wage a war against the desert itself. Alms Amour was, at least for now, lost entirely.

Even Doom wasn't aware of how thoroughly he had destroyed the land, but of course it wasn't in fact all his doing.

In a recently Deactivated Dungeon the light's come back on as a robotic woman walks through it's dim halls, her touch against the walls instantly bringing life back into it's mechanisms. All around Alms Amour more dungeons are forming as well and the monsters that come forth from the desert are the stuff of nightmares, she has seen to it. When she felt this dungeon reactivate she'd started paying attention, when it deactivated again she kept one eye on the dungeon and it's surroundings and the other on the Core and the one who had gone with it.

"A new player in the game and he left me a broken land to retake and even left me some incubators to start reforming this dungeon, I think I'm in love," The Ancient Dungeon Core spoke, feigning a swoon as she reached the core area, "It's a shame I can't meet him until he enters another dungeon, but at least that core with him will let me keep an eye on him," she mutters sitting down on one of the consoles as she feels the energy moving through it, set once again to indiscriminately produce monsters. As the first one is produced it moves to the core area and she reaches a hand down for the wolf like creature to sniff at and then she grabs it around the neck and lifts it her other hand forming a dungeon core she then forces into it's body. She holds it as it writhes, it's body painfully transforming into a new core for this dungeon and with that done she leaves, returning for now to her own Dungeon.
