Ellie flopped onto her bed the moment she got home from Mara’s place, her phone already glued to her hand like always. She was replying to one of John’s dumb memes in the group chat when a new message popped up from an unknown number. “Hey Ellie,” the text read. “I hope you guys had fun with that ritual. Did you know it actually worked?” She frowned and quickly typed back. “Who tf is this?” The reply came almost instantly. “That doesn't matter. What’s important is that it seems the power picked you. Lucky girl!” Ellie sat up, staring at her screen. “What power? This isn’t funny.”

The stranger replied. “You’re the only one who got it. The power to possess anyone you want. Literally anyone. Just text me their name and I’ll send you straight into their body. You’ll have full control over them, and they will have no memory of whatever you did.” Ellie’s heart started beating faster. “Is this a prank? Nice try John, but I am not falling for your tricks.” The stranger answered right away. “We can become John if you want. You can become anyone you want. Your friends, celebrities, strangers, whoever. Just text me the name and enjoy. When you want to come back, text me ‘home’. Simple as that.” There was a short pause before the final message appeared. “So tell me, Ellie. Who do you want to become?”
