Ellen's parents relax

Peter was still reeling. "What do you mean? You wanted it. He's nineteen and you have only been together for three days. Only people on one nighters do that. There's more to it than that."

"I'm hoping you can help me here mum. Steven is really good in bed. And er. He's rather well endowed. I got lost in the moment. "Okay. I'll admit that your mum and I have done some things that aren't conventional. And in places that could have got us both arrested. But at least we waited until we married before having you."

"Don't divulge any more details Peter. It's embarrassing." Donna pleaded.

"It's okay mum. Back of the car and all that. As long as you avoided the temptation to jump in an industrial wheeley bin." Peter just laughed and Donna went red. " You didn't. Seriously. You two are worse than I thought." Ellen was now laughing a bit at her parents revelation.

"Okay, we're busted." Donna said lightly. "So if you can feel Steven. Where did he go?"

"I'm not saying unless dad says he'll be cool."

Peter being of academic mind himself wasn't stupid and realised what Ellen had unintentionally said. "So he's still here." Then raising his voice. "Come out Steven. I've calmed down now. I apologise for flying at you." Steven then appeared before them. "Stand in front of me Steven." Peter more or less ordered his last sentence. Steven nervously did so. "I take it you heard everything that Ellen told us as you're back after I said I've calmed down." Steven nodded. "Okay. The fact that you just disappeared and didn't do anything to cause pain tells me you've no intention of hurting anyone unless you have to. It also tells me that Ellen means a lot you. Knowing this and everything that Ellen has told us. I now know that, Even if you were still mortal you would lay your life on the line to protect her." Steven again nodded. "I'm so sorry kid. I really am. It's clear to me that you two are meant for each other. I don't have to worry anymore. I welcome you into the family." He then pulled Steven into a hug. "Please forgive me."

Steven wasn't sure what to do. "There's no need for you to ask. You're Ellen's dad. Of course you're gonna want protect her. I hold no ill will to you at all. If anything, I should apologise to you for Ellen carrying my child this early in our relationship." Peter let go of Steven.

"Don't sweat it. It seems that fate has played a rather good hand with us all. As I understand it, you're both staying the night."

"We are dad, yes. I asked mum to make the spare bed in my old room."

"Donna. Don't bother cooking tonight. We're ordering in. Let the lovebirds decide. I'm gonna nip down the off licence and get something in to drink for them." Anything in particular you want Steven?"

"I normally only drink lager. Anything stronger and I might not make it to the bed."

"Lager it is then. Ellen, You still like your bottle of red wine."

"Please dad. Thank you."

"I'll be back in a tick. Good job there's one down the road. After two scotches I'm probably over the limit." Peter then headed of out the door. Leaving every else to decide on what they was going to have to eat.

Come the end of the night. Ellen's parents had come to terms with Ellen's relationship with Steven and come to like him very much. But Ellen's thoughts we're still curious about her parents activities. "Mum, dad. Can I ask you something?"

Donna, thinking Ellen had something on her mind, but no idea what, was first to respond. "Of course dear. What's on your mind?"

"Well, not sure how to ask this so I'll just say it. I'm curious to know what dad meant by unconventional." Ellen was nervous for asking.

"I'm not sure you want to hear that Ellen." Responded Peter. "It's not the sort of thing that parents tell their kids."

"Dad. I'm an adult now. Not some naïve kid. So please. I don't want to know really but I can't help but to keep wandering."

"I better get another scotch." Peter got up and went to his cabinet to pour it out.

Steven decided it might be a good idea to make himself scarce. "I think it might be a good idea to disappear for while. This is between you three. None of my business."

"No Steven. Ellen will no doubt tell you herself at a some point anyway. So you may as well hear it first hand."

Donna was beside herself. "I really don't want to discuss this honey. You may not like what you hear."

"It'll keep coming into my head if I don't ask mum." Ellen's common sense screaming at her. "What the hell are you doing, Stop asking and forget it." But the curiosity would prove to win the fight.
