Eel

General

The eel is a type predatory elongated fish who's dorsal and anal fin stretch down their bodies to fuse with their caudal (tail) fin. Some ees have pectoral fins but most species have neither pectoral nor pelvic fins. Their skins lack scales and are often cover in mucouse.

Some eels varieties are known to be some variety of sequential hermaphrodites meaning they change their sex at some point of their life from male to female or vice versa.

Like many fish, eels frequently spawn to reproduce which involves the female reliving egg into the water where they are fertilised by the male's sperm. The larvae will then float through with the sea-current and feed on marine snow. until they become adults.

Though most eels live exclusively in the sea some varieties migrate into fresh waters swimming upstream where they finish their growth into adults. After which they return to the same salty waters in the ocean in which they were spawn to mate once more. However exceptions exist with some eels living exclusively in fresh water.

Eel merfolk

Tenacious and flexible. These merfolk tend to be able to survive and adapt quickly to their environment. Though they often like to hide, in tight spaces, it may not necessarily mean they are shy. Be sure to try to identify the type of eel you're dealing with for some varieties have a nasty bite.

Although their sea creature counterparts tend to spawn to reproduce, eel mermen and mermaids tend to reproduces with a penis and vagina or cloaca, just like many other kinds of merfolk. Though males ejaculate perhaps a greater amount of sperm than some other varieties.

These merfolk seldom mind sharing either. Though they may go long periods without feeling the need to reproduce, they'll often partake in a yearly orgy with thousands of others.
