It won't be easy for Jason... But what is happening in the north of the kingdom at this time? How are things going with Prince Gellian and his army?
Earning wisdom...
Jason knelt by the wounded mans side, rubbing his hand over the knights forehead gently. Instantly the worst of knights wounds vanished, as Jason studied his face laying there looking sorrowed and care worn. "Take this man to my doctors… I would see his wounds farth… fully heal I believe he knows about the movements of our enemies."
The captain of the guard looks surprised at the prince's sudden change of heart. He hesitates, but the young prince's authority is absolute. The guardsmen gently lift the still **** Denric and place him carefully onto a horse, taking him to the royal physician. Jason rides alongside, his mind racing with possibilities.
'Who is this man? Why was he so vehemently cursing the prince, the crown?' Jason's power of healing is a secret, known only to his closest advisors. He has grown accustomed to admiration and reverence from the common folk. This is the first time Jason has experienced genuine disdain directed at him personally.
He shakes it off, focusing on the present mystery. Jason will get to the bottom of Denric's motives, and perhaps in doing so, learn more about himself… Joining a small band of his rangers, the Prince roamed ahead of his slowly moving army. Discovering where the Orc scouts were located, the trickster Prince used his magic to disguise himself as the Orc chieftain.
Barking orders for them to redeploy, opening a huge blind spot for his troops to move by unseen. After two days hard riding he returned to his troops, and was almost instantly sent for by the doctors as Sir Denric Tahlane was awake. And more than ready to vent his story, the Prince listened gravely to all the man had to say.
And then to everyone's surprise and amazement the handsome young Prince apologized to the knight. And begging the man for his loyal support, Sir Denric looked at the young Prince in shock and surprise. As Jason took out his own sword, unsheathing the shiny silver blade that seemed to glitter with flicker blueish flame.
"Take this blade and stand by my side Sir Denric, I vow that we will not fail you again." Jason promised with tears in his eyes, Sir Denric starred at the young Prince with awe in his eyes. Sir Denric's eyes widened as he accepted the glittering sword, the weight of it heavy in his hands. He could feel the power emanating from the blade, ancient and strong. Jason stood before him, head bowed, a single tear tracing down his cheek.
"I swear to you, Sir Denric, my actions that day were rash and thoughtless. I did not understand the depth of your devotion and sacrifice. Please, allow me to make amends. Stand with me, fight for me, and I vow to listen, to learn, and to lead with wisdom and compassion."
Denric looked at the earnest face of the young prince, seeing beyond the beauty and charm to the **** soul beneath. He had seen the prince's power, felt it in the magic that healed his wounds. This was a being of immense potential, but he was young, untried in the harsh realities of life.
"I accept your apology, Your Highness," Denric said solemnly. "And I accept your offer. I will stand by your side, not just in battle, but in counsel. Together, we will face the challenges ahead and emerge stronger."
Jason's face lit up, a genuine smile replacing the solemn expression. He embraced Denric, a gesture of trust and friendship. From that moment, a bond was forged, a partnership that would shape the fate of nations. With Denric by his side, Jason felt ready to face anything, even the revelations of his own past.
As they left the infirmary, Jason turned to Denric. "Tell me, good Sir, what do you know of the orcs? Their numbers, their plans? I fear we are ill-prepared for the true scope of their designs."
A trickster at war...
