Early lunch

Though it's still late morning, the two of you had an early start and didn't eat a full breakfast. Blue finds a small clearing just off the main paths and sits down on the ground, taking off his backpack and unzipping it. You kneel next to him, not wanting to plant your bare ass in the dirt, as he pulls out two cold cuts sandwiches and two bottles of water. As you take one of each you wonder when he could have prepped these meals. He must have gotten up very early in the morning if he already had them ready before you woke up.

You don't dwell on it too much as the two of you greedily dig in. The meal isn't that fancy, but considering all you've eaten today was a granola bar it hits the spot. The sandwiches are quite filling, piled high with meats, cheese, lettuce, and pickles, no doubt enough to keep you going for the rest of the day. As you demolish your sandwich you take in all the sights and sounds of the forest. This place always sounded intimidating to you as a trainer but with all the sounds of trainers and battling behind you the forest itself feels quite serene and calming.

In just a few minutes both sandwiches are gone and both water bottles empty. You hand Blue back your empty bottle, and he stuffs both haphazardly into his backpack. After he fights with the zipper a bit his pack is ready to go again.
