Drink Me, Eat Me

With everything solved, we took Alice back to the room we shrank in. A large shadow monster had taken form. It looked exactly like the shadow creatures we'd been killing, but gigantic. Well, it was normal sized, but we were tiny.

The shadow took one step toward, its foot slamming into the floor near me and shaking the earth, right before it it took a swing with its arm at us. If I was at my original size, beating this thing would be no problem.

I saw Glaze shoot a fireball, which flew towards the monster's torso.

"Now's your chance!" Tank said.

The monster's attention shifted to Glaze and it poked her, causing the red oni to pass out. I gave a running leap and managed to latch onto the seat of the chair. I pulled myself up, intending to then jump onto the table and where the Eat Me cake was. The demon kicked the chair over, sending me down with it. I got up and swung my Chainsaword in frustration, to find I'd opened a portal where I had swung. I looked up to see another portal on the table. I ran through, and found myself stood on the table.

Kneeling down, I reached for the cake and ripped off a small chunk. I slipped the chunk into my mouth. As soon as I swallowed, I rapidly started growing. I jumped off the table and onto the floor. There I kept growing until I finally reached my regular size. I stabbed the shadow through the chest.

"We did it!" Tank said, "Y'know, we really make a great team once we start workin' together like this!"

"I hate to admit it," Glaze said, "but you're right."

Glaze, Tank and Alice ate from the Eat Me cake. Like me, they returned to their original sizes in a heartbeat. After we got dressed, we returned to where we landed.

"How do we get back up?" I asked.

"It's going to be a very long climb," Glaze said.

Fortunately, that turned out not to be true. I just swiped with my Chainsaword, creating a portal back to the surface that we walked through. Alice was able to make her own way back home while we went back to the ship to go to the next universe.

Just like before, Glaze sat down at the driver's seat and fiddled with the controls as they drifted through... I'm not sure what to call it. Space? It looked like space.

"I wonder where Duncan and Dawn are...?" The words escaped my throat in a voice just over a whisper.

"Nothin' to be worried about!" Glaze said.

"We'll find 'em, Felix!" Tank said, "We're headin' to the next world now… What's it called? Gala… uh."

"You mean Gaia!" Glaze rolled her eyes, "According to this, the next world's called 'Gaia'. Sounds like there's some kinda tournament there."

"A tournament, huh?" I looked over to the screen, thinking this over. The only time I'd ever lost a fight was when I went up against Phoenix. A real tournament would put my skills to the test. How could we pass it up? "Think Duncan and Dawn might be down there?"
