Drew, his best freind

Dan really wasn't surprised when Derek's best friend Drew showed up at their house on the morning of the trip, although part of him had half expected their plus one to be a girl.

The two boys had been inseparable since Kindergarten, a trend that wasn't going to change come the fall. Although Drew had played wide receiver for Derek's football team, he hadn't been talented enough to make the team in Florida, so applied and was now headed there on an academic scholarship. The two were going to be roommates.

Dan worried a little about the two of them being left alone together 12 hours from home. They were both good kids, but Drew tended to be a little wilder than Derek. Without adult supervision, he was afraid Drew would get his son distracted by girls and parties.

While Derek was a good looking kid, Drew looked like a Calvin Klein model. He worked out constantly and had a chiseled upper body, complete with a six pack. Everyone was aware because he liked to go shirtless as much as possible.

On the drive down they agreed that the boys would share the cabin's one bedroom, and Dan would sleep on the couch. It wasn't that unusual a thing, the boys had been spending the night at each other's houses almost weekly for the last 12 years.

The six hour drive to the cabin was nothing unusual. Honestly, Drew had been around the house enough that he was really like a second son to Dan. The three of them had logged many hours together in the car going to football camps and college visits.

By the time they arrived, they had just enough time to stop at McDonalds for some garbage food, then check into their cabin. They unloaded the car and all headed to bed. The boys went into the bedroom and Dan laid down on the couch.
