Chapter 21

Dragonslayers
As we arrived in the Fairy Tail backyard, the sounds of intense training filled the air. A group of mages were honing their skills under the watchful eye of Erza, her commanding presence evident as she barked instructions. Her scarlet hair flowed like a banner of war, her armor gleaming in the afternoon sun.
“Focus, everyone!” Erza’s voice rang out, clear and authoritative.
Jasmine’s eyes lit up at the sight of the training mages. “This looks so cool!” she exclaimed, her excitement palpable.
I felt a pang of concern. “Jasmine, maybe you should sit this one out. You don’t know magic.”
But Jasmine shook her head, her expression determined. “No way. I want to see what I can do.”
Despite my protests, Jasmine strode confidently onto the training ground. Lucy, already engaged in training, noticed Jasmine’s arrival and smirked. “Well, look who decided to join us".

Jasmine met her gaze with a confident smile. “Ready to get your ass kicked, Lucy?”
Lucy’s eyes narrowed. “Alright, let’s see what you’ve got.”
The air crackled with tension as Jasmine and Lucy circled each other. Lucy’s whip cracked through the air, aimed at Jasmine, but Jasmine dodged with a nimble grace, her athleticism coming to the forefront.
Despite having no magic, Jasmine managed to hold her ground with surprising agility and strength. After all she had been a gymnast and did track & field in high school, and it showed in her movements. Her body, naturally curvaceous and athletic, moved with a precision and speed that caught everyone off guard.
Lucy’s expression turned serious as she realized Jasmine was stronger than she had anticipated. She stepped up her game, her attacks becoming more intense. Jasmine’s stamina was impressive, but it became clear she was struggling to keep up. Lucy’s whip tore at Jasmine’s clothes, leaving her with bruises and torn fabric.
“Come on, Jasmine, you can do it!” Mom cheered from the sidelines, her voice almost deafening me. “Kick her ass! Show her what you’ve got!”
Jasmine’s frustration grew, her anger bubbling to the surface. “I’m not done yet!” she shouted. Suddenly, flames flickered around her hands, and with a roar, she unleashed a torrent of fire, the flames swirling around her in a mesmerizing dance.

We all watched in awe as Jasmine’s power surged, her body surrounded by a halo of flames. Her confidence soared, and she pressed her advantage, driving Lucy back with each fiery strike.
Mom’s cheers pierced through my ears, "That's my girl!" In that moment, I realized just how similar Jasmine and Mom were— both reckless.
Ada stood next to me, her eyes wide with disbelief. “How can it be?” she muttered, almost to herself. “Two dragon slayers appearing in the same place at the same time...”
Lucy, realizing she was being overpowered, summoned one of her celestial spirits. “Taurus, come forth!” she shouted.

With a powerful swing, Taurus unleashed a shockwave that knocked Jasmine off her feet and sent her crashing to the ground.
Jasmine lay there, stunned, as Taurus prepared to attack again. The spirit’s massive axe gleamed in the sunlight, poised to strike. But before it could reach Jasmine, Ava rushed forward, “Jasmine!” she cried out, throwing herself over Jasmine to shield her.
In an instant, roots and plants erupted from the ground, creating a protective barrier around them. The plants twisted and turned, forming a thick shield that absorbed the brunt of Taurus’s attack. Ava’s power flowed through her, the roots growing stronger and more intricate, safeguarding both her and Jasmine.
Erza, seeing the situation escalating, intervened. “Enough!”. She stepped between the combatants, her presence imposing. “Lucy, you’ve gone too far. Attacking someone on the ground is unacceptable.”
Lucy, realizing her mistake, dismissed Taurus. “I’m sorry, Erza. I got carried away".
Ava helped Jasmine to her feet, the protective plants receding back into the earth.
Jasmine halted, the flames around her flickering and then dying down. “I was just getting started,” she muttered, her breath still coming in quick gasps.
"Alright, that's enough now girl. Don't forget you got my granddaughter to take care of."
"Granddaughter ?"
"Oh I know it's going to be a girl."
Lucy, unable to express her emotions in front of Erza, left.
