Dragonfolk
Dragonfolk is an umbrella term for humanoids related to Dragons. The main groups are humanoid dragons, half-dragons, dragonborn, and dragonkin.
Humanoid dragons are Dragons that have taken on a humanoid appearance by magic or been born small and with natural humanoid dimensions. Genetically, they are the same as other dragons and have the same physiology, life span, and abilities as dragons. Those who have used magic to take on a humanoid form may choose to disguise themselves as other kinds of humanoids and can revert to their full dragon form at any point. Those born this way can not. Natural born humanoid dragons can be hermathrodites.
Half-dragons are the direct descendants of dragons mating with a humanoid. This is normal, but not always, with a Humanoid dragon. Whether they are hatched from eggs or born live depends on the gender of the dragon parent. They have scales, horns, wings, tails, and glands in their throat that can store chemicals used to produce breath weapons such as breathing fire or acid. Most have the adaptations needed to fly. If they mate with a dragon, they have the ability to produce regular dragons or naturally born humanoid dragons. If they mate with other half dragons or other humanoids, they produce half dragons. Female half-dragons lay eggs. All half dragons have internal genitalia like dragons, which are guarded by scales that open up due to arousal or a full bladder. Half-dragons have a likelihood of being hermaphrodites.
First-generation dragonborn are the children of half-dragons and other humanoids. Including other dragonborn. The Dragonborn status is maintained by mating with other dragonborn or with half-dragons. Mating with other humanoids produces Dragon-kin. Dragonborn can choose to give birth to live young or lay an egg. Their bodies are fully covered with scales and have horns, claws and glands in their throat that can store chemicals used to produce breath weapons such as breathing fire or acid. The genes for wings and tails are recessive. Most who develop wings develop residual flightless wings and no keel. Rare cases can cause the development of flight-capable wings and a keel to support them. Like half-dragons, dragonborn have internal genitalia like dragons, which are guarded by scales that open up due to arousal or a full bladder. Dragonborn have a likelihood of being hermaphrodites, but this trait is less common in dragonborn.
Dragonkin are characterised by having more mammalian features. These may include external genitalia, hair, humanoid facial features, and patches of skin instead of scales and secondary sexual characteristics such as breasts and beards, respectively. Scales mostly persists, over skin, down the arms, legs, and back. Skin is more prevalent on the face, chest, and groin. However, it is very common for dragonkin to grow scales instead of hair in pubic areas when puberty starts.
