"So, tell me mortal... Is it now normal to speak of oneself in the third person?" asked Dracula curiously, looking around. This castle was even worse furnished than the embassy he had just left. There were pictures of this strange knight everywhere, for nothing else could this man be. Why else would he be wearing armor?

"How dare you insult Dr. Doom in his mansion! DOOMBOTS! ATTACK!" snarled Victor angrily, pointing at the Count. Immediately the robots turned towards him and raised their arms. Strange steel devices were attached to their arms. Dracula eyed the metal golem with raised brows. The metalwork had made impressive progress. In the short fight with the knight, Dracula had already learned that there was a new kind of magic that he did not yet fully understand. It was only thanks to his superhuman reflexes and otherworldly perception that he was able to dodge the hundreds of projectiles that were suddenly hurtling towards his position. The first small metal bullet shot only mm past his head and Dracula could see how the small piece of metal, which roughly had the shape of a spike, seemed to rotate around its own axis. But he had no time to study this mechanical masterpiece. A hail like that of ten thousand archers was hailing down on him. Faster than a human could have moved, he dodged the bullets, but found that the golems could still follow his movements. Their arms followed his movements and spat their bullets incessantly. Dracula cursed angrily when one of these projectiles hit him in the arm. The impact was about the size of a ballista, yet the hole was barely larger than a fingernail. Taking cover behind a pillar, he looked in confusion at the small hole in his shoulder. How could such a tiny thing have so much ****?

Then he heard a whistle whirring through the air and saw 2 tubes of metal flying through the air from a tail of fire. They seemed to fly around the pillar and straight at him.

"What kind of wretched witchcraft is this now?" he asked, seeming to wait to see what would happen. They were slower than the small balls and suddenly he felt the poles turn into a fireball. The shock wave was huge and the heat of the explosion burned his skin. Not being prepared for such a thing, his body was thrown across the hall. The fire burned his skin and clothes and so he was left on the floor.

"So, there he is lying in the dirt in front of the mighty Van Doom! As everyone will soon do!" laughed Doom and took a seat on his throne.

Dracula lay on the ground and pondered his situation. The fact that his arm was missing and one leg was torn away didn't bother him. He didn't feel any pain for a long time but Dr. Doom's words echoed in his head. Slowly, ignoring gravity, his body rose and from the blood his limbs formed again. Even the clothes reformed and Dracula knocked the dust and dirt from his robes.

"You who call yourself Doom... know... I acknowledge that your golems are a masterpiece, however.... they begin to anger ME!" he growled angrily, extending his right hand. " AWAY!" he roared as tentacles formed from the shadows of the machines and wrapped around the bodies of the robots, then destroyed them with a single jerk. Dracula clenched his fist again as if in pain and shook it briefly.

"Then you will have the honor of being defeated by Dr. Doom himself! You should have stayed dead vampire!" he said and slowly stood up.

"Beware young mortal. I am tired of your games and will bring your end." Said Dracula calmly and clenched his fists. The sword at his side was still sheathed and he would not soil the blade with the blood of such an idiot.

Dracula felt his power dwindle. He had not drunk for too long and had been locked up for too long. On top of that, the opponent was diverse and powerful. In their fierce battle, the two completely dismantled Dr. Doom's castle. More and more new devices drove out of hidden weapon platforms and supported Doom in his fight. Dozens of missiles had missed their target inside, completely destroying the premises. But that did not seem to stop him. A volley of missiles hit the king of vampires in the chest and hurled him out of one of the large windows. With difficulty, Dracula broke his fall and looked at Doom hovering above him. The latter hurled one flash of light after another from his hands, each of these glowing orbs burning the ground so intensely that only glass remained. Dracula's movements became slower and sluggish, but he wasn't finished yet. He took advantage of a brief pause in the fight when Dr. Doom seemed to want to make one of his speeches and rolled his eyes.

He looked down at his hands and saw blood red writing light up under the wise glove.

"No. That won't be necessary!" He smiled to himself and looked up at Dr. Doom.

"Are you finally giving up? Kneel before your new master and I will spare your life!" said Doom and Dracula raised a brow before he had a violent fit of laughter. He couldn't remember when he had laughed so hard. Apparently, his laughter upset the fake king as he kept his mouth shut for the first time in the fight.

"You really think I'm going to kneel to you? ME? Who are you little mortal?" Laughed Dracula finally, wiping away a bloody tear.

"Do you really think Dr. Doom is afraid of Dracula? A cadaver and foolish hero of a ridiculous book?"

In the next instant Dracula stood next to him in the air and whispered something in his ear. Immediately, the so-far fearless knight backed away from Dracula.

"LIE! It can't be!" he then roared and fired everything he had. Towards Dracula shot dozens of missiles, several Repulsor balls and an Omnibeam that fizzled or exploded right in front of him.

"It's time to end this fight!" smiled Dracula now. The next action would cost him a lot of blood, but there were enough living beings in this land that would be able to quench his thirst. Everything he had seen here in the city was a step backwards for him. What he had seen in London was extremely impressive, but here? In this Latveria it was like the Middle Ages. It was as if the clocks had been turned back here.

"Dr. Doom won't tolerate that! Doom never loses, even to a legend like you!" roared Doom, now activating the wall defenses as well. Everything he could muster was now directed at Dracula, but all his attacks simply fizzled out a meter in front of him. Even the magical powers he now conjured up had no effect on him. But suddenly Dr. Doom stopped and looked at the villages at the foot of his castle. He could hear the panicked screams of his citizens from there. Shortly after, a red mist drifted up the mountains from the houses and streets. From all directions this fog moved towards the castle and the screams from the villages became more and more silent until a ghostly silence lay over the lands. Even the animals in the sky and in the woods had fallen silent.

"What have you done!!! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!!!" roared Doom in panic as he realized what had just happened? The red mist now enveloped Dracula who seemed to be absorbing the mist. With each passing second it seemed to grow stronger and stronger. Wounds that had been slow to heal now disappeared completely in seconds. Slowly Dracula slid back to the ground and smiled upward.

Even now Doom refused to acknowledge the inevitable. The last thing he saw in his life was the mouth of a huge dog snapping at his head. The last words of the mighty Dr. Doom were.

I WILL RULE FOR ALL ... the rest of the sentence was swallowed by the monster dog that had come out of Dracula's arm.

When the hellhound, whose body was covered with thousands of yellow eyes, disappeared back into the body of Dracula, the count knocked off his clothes and slowly walked down the mountain. All around him he could see parched corpses writhing in panic. His hunger was satisfied for now, but even if he had emerged victorious from this battle, it had taken more strength than he had thought. This one mortal, who had no supernatural powers, was not a vampire or a god... had **** him to cause such a bloodbath. Even if sooner or later he would have had to kill several hundred people to satisfy his hunger, something like this would not have been necessary. 32,192 lives he had extinguished today and one of each was now a part of him. The power of fresh blood boiled hot and powerful in his blood as he fought down the urge to consume more blood. The hunger in his soul was immeasurable and insatiable, but millennia had taught him to proceed prudently.

"It seems the world has changed, once again. Humans have become dangerous. I guess it's time I started learning." He smiled and strode through the alleys of the lifeless city. A feeling drove him west, towards the setting sun. He felt that on the other side of the world something was greedy for his attention.

"Team Theta to HQ. We have entered Latvala City. So far there are only dead people here. Our initial investigation has not found any survivors yet!" said the leader of the SHIELD team. The 5 heavily armed soldiers moved cautiously through the city. Everywhere they found dead bodies in the houses and in the streets. They looked as if they had withered from the inside out... Tony sat in his lab looking at the latest reports on Latveria. Apparently, something or someone had attacked Dr. Doom's country. The news was pouring in about the events in the European country. There were no more detailed reports yet, but SHIELD and the UN had completely sealed off the country. Apparently, there was a total news blackout. No information was coming out of Latveria and the army was making sure that no one could get in. Tony, on the other hand, had long since investigated Dr. Doom's counties with his satellites. But then where were all the battle tanks and planes that would have been necessary to destroy Dr. Doom's fortress?
