Dr. Stone Is Almost...Jealous?

"That bitch!" Dr. Stone said, after Sue Storm had told her tale of how the villain Coachwhip had briefly tied the Invisible Woman up. There was unexpected venom in the psychiatrist's voice, a flash of something like fury in her eyes. The Invisible Woman set down her teacup, alarmed at this sudden burst of emotion.

Swiftly, Dr. Stone recovered.

"Sorry, I...well, I know you're a hero and get into dangerous situations, but I'm still upset about a...patient...being treated like that," the blonde psychiatrist said as she poured herself more tea.

Sue raised an eyebrow. Her hands suddenly gripped the arms of the chair and she leaned forward a little.

"Why? Is it because I was...bound?"

Dr. Stone didn't flinch. She had regained control of herself. Yet Sue Storm had played poker with shapechangers and telepaths. The heroine smiled slyly as she noticed how carefully the doctor had not responded.

"I don't want you to get...confused," Dr. Stone said, as if in admission. "We're still in a delicate part of your treatment. Bondage outside of...clinical care...could have negative effects on your emotions. You should avoid it, if possible. With me, at least, you're safe...controlled."

Sue relaxed, smiling like a cat that had left a dead vole on her sleeping owner's pillow. The heroine sank back into her chair and crossed her legs.

"Does that mean we're having another bondage session, today?" Sue asked, innocently.

Dr. Stone sipped her tea.

"Yes," the doctor said, at last. She set the empty cup down and reached for the bundle of rope on the floor.
