Dr. Stone Finds Herself Oddly Jealous

"...and I didn't think about you at all!" Sue Storm announced proudly.

Dr. Stone sat silent a moment. Her lips pursed. She had worn her hair down today, loose about her shoulders. A white blouse that showed a generous amount of cleavage and a long skirt that went right to her ankles. It was an odd look, a bit seductive and yet demure, like a sexy library or schoolteacher.

"That's...good," she said at last. "Progress."

Sue Storm cocked her head. There was something about Dr. Stone's tone, her body language. Unusually defensive, despite the hint of pale breasts.

"I mean, that's what I was supposed to do, right?" Sue said. "Find a way to relieve that sexual stress that's built up. Indulge in harmless fantasies."

"Yes. Of course. I'm glad you understand that," Dr. Stone said, a flicker of a smile on her face. It didn't last. "Sorry, I'm feeling a little off today. I really am glad you've had this...breakthrough."

Sue narrowed her eyes. Dr. Stone didn't sound glad. In fact, if she had to guess...

"I think she'd got a little crush on me," Sue told Janet van Dyne. "Which is unprofessional."

The Wasp poured the wine.

"I mean, psychiatrists are only human," the brunette said. "And you are gorgeous. I'm not surprised if she fell a little in love with you. It would be easy to do."

Sue blushed, and sipped. They were in Janet's apartment, all crystal and glass, high tech and oddly spacious for Manhattan, which meant expensive.

"The real question," Janet said. "Is what you're going to do about it. I mean, maybe you should end it. See another headshrinker."

Sue frowned.

"I don't know. She's really helped me loosen up. I feel like I owe her. I hate to hurt her feelings, but I am a married woman, after all."

"And don't we know it," Jan said with a smile, as she sipped her own wine.
