Down the corridor

The Superintendent was a rather pale young woman, and her large backside was especially so, giving Fern no difficulty following her down the dim lights of the corridor.

"So, what is it, aliens?" Fern asked.

"Why would it be aliens?" the mysterious and naked Superintendent asked in reply.

"Aliens, zapping people's clothes away?"

"Well, yes. But people don't normally get that right away."

"I couldn't think of anything else that would do this. Although I can't figure out why."

"Well, the nudity isn't really the point, that's just an unfortunate side-effect."

"Of what?"

"Static build-up. It causes a charge, which sometimes leaps out and goes to earth via a handy set of clothes, accidentally destroying them in the process."

"But only women's clothes?"

"Apparently, yes. I haven't worked out exactly why yet, something to do with the materials they're made of, or maybe the underwiring in bras."

"And what are you doing, chasing them?"

"The location and frequency of the clothing destruction is helping me track down exactly where their ship is, so I can board it and persuade them to leave."

"Before any other women get zapped naked?"

"Exactly. And if I'm right..." The Superintendent abruptly turned and pushed through a door, Fern's eyes widened in shock.

"Wait, not that way..." Fern hurried through the door after the naked girl, and the two of them stepped out of the store and onto a busy street, people milling all around them, but an increasing number of them stopping at the sight as the pretty Superintendent stood there.

"Ah." The Superintendent blushed red, wrapped her arms around her naked body, and turned to Fern, "Well, good news- none of these people are looking at the split in your trousers."

"Because you're here naked?"

"No. Well, yes. But also because you aren't wearing trousers any more."

"What?!" Fern looked down at her body and saw that she too was naked.
