Down By The River !

It was still baking hot after lunch. In the meantime, Lawrence and Sunil were perusing the photos from the morning's work in the fields, plus the 'out takes' from the supposed calendar shoot of the day before. "These are sensational Lawrence, just what we need. You and Debbi have more than earned your fees" said Sunil. Lawrence smiled, knowing full well that he wouldn't be paying Debbi for her services ! "I'll have secondary use of any shots I want for my web site too" Lawrence confirmed, "Agreed" said Sunil. "What about this afternoon ?" Lawrence asked. "No need for anything else in the fields. I thought we'd just shoot some more down by the river." "Sounds good, she'll think it all ties in with this water charity angle" said Lawrence.

So it was that Debbi stood in her robe down by the river, while Sunil explained to the women washing clothes what was going to happen. Debbi would strip off and join them in the hard graft of soaping, rinsing, slapping and wringing the garments. The locals remained in their loose saris. "We're illustrating how we in the west take water and washing machines for granted Deb" bluffed Lawrence. He obtained more golden material as Debbi went about her task nude. The women gave her clothes they had already washed, rightly assuming that she would not be skilled enough to do a thorough job with no training. Thorough or not, she found it tough going, especially as the sun continued to beat down.

"One last set of photos gorgeous" Lawrence called. "The only shower in town is the one at our place and you know how ropey that is. So we need to show what the locals have to do. So into the river you go" and he tossed her a bar of the rough soap ! Debbi looked sceptically at the water. It would be nice to cool off but what was in it ? Sunil laughed. "It's OK Debbi, we don't have crocodiles or piranhas ! Just don't swallow any of it, that's why we need the well !" Debbi laughed too and made a show of washing in the shallows. Lawrence did give some guidance for her poses this time, making sure that for the most part the important bits of her body were out of the water, resulting in the most revealing shots.

"That's about done" he announced with Debbi still sitting in the water, at which point about six of the street urchins began dive bombing in beside her, frolicking and splashing her. It was a scene of innocent laughter which even the stony faced women enjoyed. After playing for a few minutes, Debbi made to get out. "We forgot a towel Deb" Lawrence apologised. "We might as well walk back to the house as you are, you'll air dry in no time in this heat !" The walk back was accompanied by the posse of urchins dancing around Debbi. "If we set off back now, most of the drive will be in the dark, which is bad news on these roads" explained Sunil. "So best to have one more night here and then set off bright and early in the morning."
