I walk over to Doug. He barely looks up from the pile of books covering his desk before launching into conversation. “Oh, hey, you must be Ethan. I’m Doug. I’m studying computer science, although honestly I’m probably going to spend more time in here than anywhere else this year. I’ve already gone through all the syllabi for my classes and made a schedule for every assignment. I know that sounds a little excessive, but I really don’t like falling behind. Oh, and if you ever need help with anything involving computers, math, or basically anything that requires sitting down for six hours straight, I’m your guy.” He pauses and looks at me over his glasses. “Also, just so you know, I don’t sleep much, so if you hear typing at three in the morning, that’s probably me.”
