Donna Sets Some Rules

"Yes, you have told me about her before." Says Audrey, curious about what Donna is planning to do.

"Well, let me show you something." Donna says calmly and looks to the side as a giant floating screen, like one from a sci fi movie appears besides them. Audrey is less and less surprised seeing these stuff, as she is slowly understanding what's happening. The screen starts showing several large buildings. "It is the firm where my daughter works. I am really proud of her for being able to secure her dream job. But for the sake of testing, I am going to change something big now."

With a mere thought, the entire firm changes to a large hospital. The landscape around are mostly the same except slight changes. Next, the screen starts to show the view of a room where a doctor is working on some papers. "That's my daughter, she is a doctor now!" Donna says with an exhilarating voice, as if a scientist just discovered something big. Audrey is just quietly watching it with a surprised face, which is basically what you can call being speechless.

"Next.." Donna says, still elated, and the screen changes again. Now, her daughter is in a different room sitting behind a large desk and talking on the phone. Judging by the name and title on the desk plaque, it is apparent that she is a professor in some University that never existed before. "she is a chemist professor now." Then, a moment later, it changed back to her being a chemist again. "There, thing's are back to how they were".

"How did you like my magics? I can change reality, too!" says Donna.

"That's...this is big! You...you are practically a Goddess now, Donna!"

"Well, I wouldn't dare call myself a Goddess. Don't wanna anger whoever's up there and passed me this ability" Donna says with a smile.

"Yeah, fair point. But still, you can literally do anything, now, as it stands. umm...." Audrey pauses for a moment, "Can you uhh..help me with my problem that I talked you about before? Pleasseee. I will be forever grateful."

Donna thinks for a moment staring at Audrey. Then she suddenly says, "Done! Your husband is no longer a dick now and will treat you and your kids kindly, like a loving man should. Your previous hatred and fear for him will quickly go away and allow you to enjoy the new loving atmosphere in your family."

"But you didn't even do anything. Are you sure?" Audrey sounds like she don't know if she should believe it or not.

"I don't need to fight. I only need to think!" Donna says, a dialogue she picked up from a game video her son was watching the other day on the TV.

"Ohh,, I see. Thanks a million, Donna. What you just did means the world to me."

"No big deal. But here's the thing. You mustn't tell anyone else about my abilities. The moment you proceed to share it with someone in any way possible, note it down, even in a cryptic way, you will immediately forget about my abilities instead before you can do it. Hope you understand. "

"I understand. It's your private matter after all."

"Good. I will get back to my desk." Donna says and then walks to her desk normally. The papers and everything have finished their work by themselves. In fact, it completed the tasks that would take her the whole week. Donna just sits there, thinking. Does she even need to work anymore? After all, money is an useless concept for now. She can just enjoy life how she wants to. However, for her to enjoy things without anyone else butting in, she needs to make a few rules and changes.

"Nobody will notice anything unusual or supernatural happenings around me until I want others to notice."

"My ability will work based on how I want it in my head. Even if I phrase it wrongly, it won't go wrong."

"I won't make any accidental changes by my thoughts going rogue or when I am thinking something but don't want it to happen right away."

"My changes won't cause any adverse external effects. Bonus positive effects are fine but no negative ones and no unwanted butterfly effect. If two of my changes or rules conflicts with each other, they will find a way to solve it without any issue."

Satisfied, Donna starts to think what she wants to do. She can make grand changes, suddenly become the queen of a giant castle in a fantasy land. But one thing she wants to take things slow and explore the wonders of her own world first before any fantasy or sci-fi stuff. Her thoughts gets interrupted with the sound of footsteps and talks. It looks like others have finally started to arrive to the office.

After everyone is already on their desk, starting their daily work, the boss arrives. "Good Morning" he says, as he heads to his chamber without even looking at anyone. He has a superior complexity. He is very handsome, though. Donna never looked at him in any way other than with nervousness. However, now that thing's are different, she starts to think..
