Donna stepped out of her dressing room in her police detective outfit, her heels clicking on the floor as she made her way towards the film set. She was greeted by the familiar sights and sounds of activity, crew members rushing back and forth setting up lights and cameras, the air filled with the hum of conversation. The rush she always felt when she started a new film had never ceased to fill her with joy and excitement. She was in the mood to do something. She was in the the mood to act.

Nearby, standing near the service table with cup of coffees in their hand, she saw her two co-stars. One she recognized as Sarah Bloom, a petite young woman with long golden hair and wide, innocent eyes. She wore a silver cross necklace and was dressed in a pair of blue denim jeans and a white cardigan that despite her best efforts still slightly revealed the buxom curves that had gotten quite a lot of attention on social media. The other was taller dressed in a black professional pantsuit. She had long dark hair and intense eyes that screamed 'don't mess with me'. It was a look she has seen in countless interviews that she had done. It could only be Nora Washington.

Sarah's face lit up as soon as she caught sight of Donna. "Oh my God, Miss Wyatt. I can't believe I'm really working with you," she gushed, giddy as a schoolgirl, "You are my hero. I'm your biggest fan. I've seen every movie you've ever done at least a hundred times."

Donna chuckled, her voice warm and inviting, "I'm flattered Sarah. But since we're going to be working together, I think you should call me Donna."

Sarah's smiled even wider and her eyes sparkled with excitement, "Of course Miss Wyatt...I mean Donna." Her smile disappeared and her cheeks flushed pink with embarrassment.

Donna smiled at the young ingenue, "It's alright Sarah," she assured, her voice smooth.

Sarah's smile returned, assuaged by her words. She was glad to see that her hero didn't disappoint.

Nora turned to Donna and extended her hand, her expression still as serious as it was when she came in. "Miss Wyatt, I've admired your work for years. I look forward to working with you."

"Please call me Donna" she said as she smiled. "I've really enjoyed your work as well."

As they waited for filming to begin, Sarah clasped her hands together in excitement, "I can't wait to get started," she said eagerly, "I'm really excited for Mr. Blake's vision. It's so dark and so unique."

Nora crossed her arms across her chest, "Forgive me if I'm not quite ready to sing his praises just yet," she replied, her voice measured, "I admit that I find the script and characters intriguing but I've learned to be cautious, especially around men like Mr. Blake."

Sarah and Nora stood and argued for at least another thirty seconds. Sarah stood up for Damien's vision of the film while Nora expressed her skepticism. Donna could feel the tension building between them. She had to put a stop to this.

"Ladies," she cut in, her voice low and steady and immediately projecting an air of authority that made both Sarah and Nora fall silent. Her sapphire eyes flashed towards both women, "Let's focus on the film, not on each other."

Sarah looked down, away from Donna like a puppy being reprimanded by its owner, "You're right Donna," she whispered softly, "I just really believe in this project and I want to do well. I guess I just let my enthusiasm get the better of me."

Nora uncrossed her arms and her body eased, "I'm sorry too. It just that," Nora responded, "I've been in this business a long time and I've seen the seedy, exploitative side of it." She looked over at Sarah, her eyes focused, "and I just don't want you to have to experience the things I have."

Donna looked at both Sarah and Nora, her gaze focused and assured, "If either of you have any issues, you can come to me and I will help you."

Sarah gave Donna a grateful smile while Nora nodded her head in agreement in gratitude. The tension dissipated as quickly as it built and the three of them were chatting and enjoying each other's company just as they had been before.

At that moment, a young PA who looked like he had barely graduated college and looked terrified of absolutely everything, approached the three ladies. "Miss Wyatt, Miss Bloom, Miss Washington, Mr. Blake is ready for you on set".

The three women exchanged one final look and followed the assistant onto the soundstage with a newfound professional and personal unity.
