Chapter 13 by N1ghtshade N1ghtshade

Are they done shopping, or is there anything else to do?

Done shopping, for now.

The green flames flared, and the girls emerged into the living room of the rookery. Harry, for once, landed gracefully, thanks to clutching Luna's hand like her life depended on it. The room was medium sized, and perfectly round, just like the tower dorms at Hogwarts. However, there wasn't that much space to move around due to the sagging piles of books, capped by animated models of odd animals, assembled by Luna. Thundering bangs rolled through the room, and Harry turned to see a printing press that looked like it was older than Gutenberg pushing out the latest issue of The Quibbler.

"Welcome, Harry, to my home." Luna smiled. "We'll get your stuff up to my room, then I'll give you the tour."

An older blond man came upstairs and ran to Luna. "Oh, daughter, you're safe." He stated as he crushed her in his arms. Luna returned the favor while rolling her eyes.

"We stayed to normal stores, in broad daylight, had each others backs, didn't touch Knockturn Alley, and obeyed curfew. There's really no reason to worry." Luna told him.

"I just worry about you, daughter, after your mother ... and with You-Know-Who back .... and after your adventure in the Department of Mysteries, you're in danger." Xenophilius said.

Luna rolled her eyes. "I know, dad, can I show my friend around before dinner?"

"Oh, yes, of course." He turned to look at Harry. "You're Luna's friend?"

"Yeah, we met last year at school. I had a sort of ... emergency, and needed a place to stay. Thank you for that." Harry explained.

"Well, any friend of Luna's is a friend of mine." He smiled. "Now, I want both of you in the kitchen for dinner in 20 minutes."

The rookery would've been rather claustrophobic for anyone else. But, growing up in it or living in a closet for 11 years made it rather cozy. Every room was stacked to the brim with books, do-dads and all manner of other things. The grounds were beautiful, with a garden filled with exotic plants. Harry agreed with Luna in that there was beauty in the chaos.

Dinner with the Lovegoods was almost as lively as the Weasleys. Xenophilius was an excellent storyteller who regaled Harry with the creatures of the world, the latest gossip of the ministry, and some of the highlights of his worldwide travel. Even if half of it wasn't true, the way he told it made you want to believe it. Harry would have to renew her Quibbler subscription just for updates on some of them.

Xeno put an expansion charm on Luna's room, so Harry found herself with plenty of space to put her meager possessions. She set up Hedwig's perch, food, and water bowl near one of the windows. However, she blanked out before she got her purchases from the day's trip out.

"That tired?" Luna flopped on Harry's bed next to her.

"A little." Harry said. "I think it just hit home how big of a change this is." She waved at her body. "I'm not sure if I'm comfortable with it, especially with showing it off with the clothing we bought."

"Oh, come on." Luna seemed exasperated. "You have an amazing body." She grabbed Harry and pulled her into a hug. "I watched you trying all of this on, and there's nothing that deserves to be hidden, except maybe the wackspurts." That sent both into a giggle fit for a few minutes. Luna started running her hands over Harry's body. "I find you sexy, wackspurts and all." Oh. Harry thought. She goes that way. "Now, let's see you in something more appropriate for bed."

Harry did as told, and although she was blushing, changed into a sleepshirt and panties. Luna made a show of not looking, but Harry could tell she was stealing all the glances she could.

Do they turn in for the night?
