"So, will you come to Leontes for me?" Golondrina asks. "Maybe Fay will come with you?"

You shake your head. "Fay would never leave Minerval. She lives for all the weird little spells and history, and she even gets off on watching Housemaster and Tutor caning scholars on the bum."

Golondrina sighs. "Housemaster sponsored me, and I've just started at Leontes. How could I change now?"

You wonder if Leontes' Housemaster is protecting Golondrina's secret, that she's Dragonkin.

You give Golondrina a longing look.

"Ah, Morgan," she says, tossing her head and shaking her red tresses. It's an incongruously girlish look for such a tall, broad-shouldered woman. "It could still work, being in different Houses?"

"It's harder," you say. "But I won't give up on you."

"I won't give up on you, either. Or Fay," Golondrina says, giving you an intense look. "I promise."

You meet her gaze, knowing the dragon behind those eyes. "I promise, too. Friends?"

"Friends," Golondrina says. "I want to do something special for you sometime." She bends forward and kisses you.

You kiss back firmly and hug her tightly. She squeezes back, her strong embrace making your back pop.

"Oh, sorry, too hard?" Golondrina says.

You smile. "No, I'm fine," you say. "I'll see you soon."

You go in search of Fay, to let her know Golondrina's not ready to change Houses.
