Chapter 6 by Daylan Daylan

Time To Battle!

Doing Your Best

The battle field of the arena you step onto is a mixture of the familiar and the unfamiliar. The familiar elements are its regulation size, the default layout of an AstroTurf field which you know in other regions is modular to accommodate different environmental elements for Pokemon that need them, and the giant halo of stadium seating that surrounds it. The unfamiliar elements are the Alolan artwork and advertising that cover the walls separating the field from the seats, the rows of tiki torches that make a pathway for you from the entrance on your side, and the large elevated wooden stage in the center of the field that those rows of torches leads to.

As you climb the stairs to the stage itself, you see Hau doing the same from the opposite side. Like you, he is dressed in a bathrobe, though his is white colored, and he has a bejeweled metal wrist bracelet much like yours on his right arm. He gives you a distracted wave with a free hand as he absentmindedly fiddles with the Pokeball he holds in the other.

You wave back, your own Pokeball shaking slightly in your grip from your nerves. It is almost a blessing that there is no roaring crowd right now, as that level of noise would probably make you a lot more intimidated. As it is, the scattered, polite clapping from the other representatives reminds you that there are some very judgemental eyes on you now. It is not a comforting thought.

In the center of the wooden stage is a large bear of a man with a bushy grey mustache and long but thinning grey hair. He is dressed in a blue shirt, white pants, and an open yellow robe with a large knot of rope tied around his waist. He pulls out the red paper fan he has tucked in the rope belt as you and Hau approach him and snaps it open.

"At this point," the large man says in an even larger voice that naturally echoes around the arena, "We will have a performance of the Alola national anthem before the presiding Kahuna, in this case myself, introduces the contestants and the battle can officially begin."

Clearing his throat, the large man points the open fan towards you and shouts, "INTRODUCING FIRST! FROM PALLET TOWN, KANTO! THE CHALLENGER! GREEN!"

The pure volume the man is able to get with his introduction makes you jump a little before another round of polite applause comes from the small audience.

Sweeping his arm to point the other way, "AND HIS OPPONENT! FROM MELEMELE ISLAND! THE DEFENDER! HAU!"

Hau halfheartedly acknowledges the applause with a few brief nods in the audience's direction before he returns his attention to you.

"Are... you okay?" you ask.

"I'll be fine," he mutters in response, "Sorry if I got you in trouble or anything. Just... wanted to be fair for your first time here, y'know?"

"I really do appreciate that, Hau," you say, surprising yourself with how eager you are to encourage him, "So don't worry about it and be brave."

Hau snickers at that, his smile partially returning to his lips as he readies his Pokeball. "I will."

With that, the Island Kahuna steps down from the stage and shouts, "BEGIN!"

You and Hau both toss your Pokeballs forward, which both pop open and allow your chosen monsters for the battle appear.

"Let's do our best, Marowak!"

"Go! Rhydon!"

Both you and your opponent are stunned by what appears on the field across from each other, though for very different reasons. For you, it is the shock of getting your first non-picture look at an Alola Form Pokemon. The darker skin, larger skull helmet, and the bone staff that burns at both ends with green fire hinting at its altered nature.

For Hau, it is the sight of the much, MUCH larger Pokemon you have summoned. The drill-horned, leathery grey giant looking down at its much smaller foe as intently as a Rhydon looks at anything.

"Oh WOW!" you exclaim, trying to keep your inner geek under control and not rush to look the Alola Marowak over from all angles.

Hau, meanwhile, simply points up at your Pokemon and says, "Brah! I wasn't expecting you to have a guy like this!"

Blinking yourself out of your gleeful daze, you give Hau a sheepish look as you reply, "The guy who came for me said we were going to only do a one-on-one battle, and I only have four Pokemon, so I just grabbed one that you wouldn't see much around here."

Your opponent screws up his face and growls, "Okay then. Let's give this a go. Marowak! Flame Wheel!"

The Marowak begins spinning its flaming bone club with one hand, building up momentum before tossing it at your Rhydon at high speed. Given its bulk, your Rhydon is unable to dodge and instead plants its feet and tanks the hit. He grunts but otherwise seems unharmed before stomping forward aggressively. "Use Strength!" you command.

Your Rhydon's arms briefly swell as it aims a swipe at the Marowak, who also does not move. The blow seems to miss anyway and you are momentarily confused. Wait. What was an Alola Marowak's typing again? You think you remember now but it does not hurt to verify. "Cut!" you order.

With a frustrated growl, Rhydon brings its head down to slash at the Marowak with its horn and the blow simply passes through its body as if it were not even there. So an Alola Marowak really is half Ghost-Type after all. This could get tricky.

Seeming to realize his unexpected advantage, Hau calls out, "Dance around and keep Flame Wheeling!"

The Marowak begins to do just that, repeatedly moving in a circle as he tosses his burning club like a boomerang over and over again. Rhydon takes each hit in stride but you know even he cannot take that kind of punishment forever. Most Rhydons would have an ability to answer its inability to touch a Ghost-Type with brute strength but the only move yours has that might hurt the Marowak needs a little build-up and if Hau keeps him dancing around like that your Rhydon will not have a chance to get it off.

Then you realize what you need to do. "Hang in there, Rhydon! Wait for it..."

Your Rhydon gives you a look and you swear it grins, knowing this trick all too well. It will still have to take a fair amount of punishment, but it should be worth it if it works. And taking punishment it is, as Hau has the Markwak throw in a few Shadow Bone attacks along with the Flame Wheels. The different attacks pepper your Pokemon's tough hide with scorch marks but you need to make sure the Marowak is in just the right position.

"You got this, Marowak!" Hau shouts, "He's too slow to get you! We can wear him down! We can win!"

Eventually, the Marowak pauses for only a second or two so that it can take stock of how well Rhydon is holding out. The moment that happens, you call out, "Rhydon! Flash!"

You turn your head away and close your eyes as Rhydon's horn suddenly flares with light, filling the stage with a blinding glare. Hau and his Marowak are caught by surprise and are **** to cover their eyes, temporarily blinded. As they do so, one of the representatives in the audience (you think it is the one from Johto) stands up and exclaims, "Did he seriously make a RHYDON his HM ****?!"

"A WHAT ****?!" Hau shouts back as he frantically rubs at his eyes.

Oh, right. Alola has other ways to get around their islands with Pokemon, so they would not have those or even know what they are. Then that means he is not going to see what is coming next on both the literally and metaphorical level. "Rhydon," you command, "SURF!"

Rhydon raises its arms and the ground beneath the stage rumbles for a second before several of the AstroTurf patches on the arena floor pop off to allow jets of water to spew out from beneath. The water comes together into a large wave that crashes into the Marowak, still blind and unable to defend itself from the aquatic hammer blow.

Hau recovers his vision and looks up to see his Pokemon laying flat on his back in a large puddle of water, the bone club having fallen from his grip. He licks his lips nervously.

"Marowak is unable to battle!" you hear the Island Kahuna say, his voice having an odd note of disappointment in it, "The winner is... CHALLENGER GREEN!"

You and Hau both recall your Pokemon, you worry those last two moves might have come off as a little under-handed, but that was the way Kanto Pokemon were used sometimes and thus an authentic experience battling a Kanto Trainer... right?

And then it hits you. You won.

Hau suddenly lets out a yelp as his wristband begins to glow, pulsing with different colors. He drops to his knees, sweating up a storm as he throws his robe open like the clothing was suddenly made out of burning metal. You knew this was coming from what you had read and signed, but to actually see it stuns you into silence along with the other watching representatives as Hau's body begins to change.

"Once, long ago," the Island Kahuna says, "the people of Alola faced a population crisis. In their wisdom, the Tapu gifted us a way to solve that crisis while also honoring the traditions of the Pokemon Battle forfit that all our nations enjoy! THIS is why we wished to have this demonstration so quickly! So that, before you take part, you can see and TRULY understand from the very start that ALL who fight in our league must face the same consequences for defeat!"

Hau's hair changes first, becoming straighter and gaining a purple shade. His eyes become more of a dim gold color. His skin retains its dark tan color but his facial features become much softer. A more-than modest pair of breasts swell onto his chest as his hips flare out into a rounder shape. The final shock however, is watching his (frankly massive) dick and balls start to shrink, almost as if they were being reabsorbed into his body only to be replaced a moment later by a glistening pussy.

Hau has been turned into a woman!

And That Means...
