Dock Talk

Silver sat on Marine's couch as the raccoon continued to gush over Blaze and Silver's teamwork. She had been like that ever since they came to her. Metal Blaze must have wreaked more terror than Silver thought. As he sat on the dock, admiring the water, he couldn't help but notice that it was one of the few places not contaminated by Nega's evil desires. He could even see fish jumping in the water, enjoying themselves – well, the ones that weren't caught in Marine's net, at least.

He heard footsteps on the dock and looked up to see Blaze waving at him. "Hey, can I join you?" she asked, and Silver gladly welcomed her. "This night is just gorgeous," Blaze said, watching the stars shine brightly in the sky. "You can't really see stars like this in the cities."

"It's a kind of beauty that might not be matched by anything," Silver replied, noticing Blaze scooting closer to him.

"Thank you, you already saved my home from a great evil. News about Metal Blaze falling will spread to the people, and it'll start to give them hope again," Blaze said, her hands coiling a bit on her pant legs. "That was pretty amazing, by the way, kicking through the fireball to put that hole into Metal Blaze," she added, causing Silver to try and poorly hide his blush from the compliment.

"Thanks, Blaze. You were pretty cool for finishing her off like you did," Silver said, looking at her and feeling the warmth radiating from her body. The stars illuminated her as he admired the cat in front of him. He wanted to ask her something he genuinely wondered about but used it as a way to change the subject. "Why did you get so mad when Metal Blaze called me weak, though?"

Blaze's face also turned a little pink as she replied, "After all you did for me, Silver, I just felt like it was wrong for you to be insulted like that. Ever since I went to your dimension, my hope was kind of fading. I was doubting myself, but you... you refused to let me. I don't know if that's because I remind you of your old friend, or you're just as nice of a guy, but I never thought I'd have this hope again." She looked away and clenched her fist with a smirk, "We're going to save my home, Silver. We're going to stop Nega for good!"

A rush of excitement filled Silver, and he felt as fired up as she did. Blaze looked at him, and he looked at her, both of them blushing, locking eyes. The feeling of pride and joy combined with the night's atmosphere started to heat up more than just their spirits. Blaze gently held Silver's face, and he did the same to her. As they came closer, passion overtook any thought or reason. They were about to embrace, but suddenly they heard a loud "HEY!" from Marine, causing them to break apart, both neon pink with embarrassment. "If you two are gonna do it, don't dirty up me dock! I don't want to swab up your fluids," she teased, making them even redder.

After a minute, Blaze decided to head inside to go to bed. Silver was left contemplating that moment, the desire, the passion, the feelings. Could he feel this way about Blaze? Had he... fallen for her?

Slowly, he stood up, realizing that he needed time to think this through and distract himself. Tomorrow would be a perfect distraction. It was time to make Eggman Nega pay for what he did to Blaze's world!
