Do your boss's request

I decided to take care of an assignment from my boss. I asked my co-worker to do the recruiting while I took care of selecting candidates for layoffs. It was not an easy task, many of them I had known for a long time and it was hard for me to choose any of them. In the end, I prepared a list of criteria by which I was able to select someone. Unfortunately, this extra task disrupted my entire day at work and I neglected my duties, causing me to have to stay on overtime. It was Friday, so it hurt twice as much. Eventually, though, I finished. I was mentally tired so I began to wonder how I would spend the evening. Maybe a walk would be a good choice? Or shopping? Or maybe I would just go home.
