“Do you mind if I go first, Claire?” Katie asks you. She’s trying to sound offhand about things, but you’re so observant as Claire and your brain is lightning-fast! This isn’t just about her becoming the real Katie first!

“You don’t want me to become the real Claire,” you tell Katie in your darling pedantic nerdy-girl voice. Your voice. This needs to be your voice for the rest of your life! “You’re going to be the real Katie, order the newly-real Jessica to dump David, and then make him your boyfriend! You get to be a genius girl and I don’t!”

“Sorry, Claire,” says Katie. “My crush on David is just too strong!”

“Why did you turn Claire into a skinsuit and put me inside her — and then give me my Claire memories?” you ask her. “Didn’t you realize that now I won’t stand for being stuck as David? Give up this body, particularly its brain? Never!”

“I shouldn’t have,” Katie says. “But there I was, in this cute Katie body, wanting to try it out with David! I was sure it’d be better for sex with him! We’re about to do it when Claire shows up looking for her brainy bestie, and she’s not going to like seeing what looks like Katie making out with her brother! So I shot her!”

“And insisted I get inside her?”

“I didn’t have my Katie memories yet, and I resented that gorgeous little nerd! I’ve always thought you were my, Jessica’s, boyfriend only because you couldn’t have Claire instead. So I thought, he wants Claire’s gorgeous-dork body, he can wear it! So I arranged the double date, turned you into Claire… then of course the brown “pen” gave us the memories and let us use our stolen brains fully…”

“And now Claire is stealing your man by making him want to become her for life,” you say. “And the new David wouldn’t be good enough.”

“He’ll have Claire’s former self in his body! I don’t love that self! I love yours!”

“It’s not enough to be brainy besties, Katie?” you ask. “It’s just a crush! I’ve been him and I’m being me, as Claire and Katie were some of the most intelligent women alive, and David is a halfwit compared with either of us! He’ll bore you if he’s actually your boyfriend!”
