Chapter 39

What was on the ground?
Divine Strand of Hair
A strain of the goddess hair. Just one. It almost burned to touch but now this was a nice material. I could make use with this. For now I tucked it in my bra. I noticed Celeste was back on her feet. Sofia was staring at her hands. And Lillian was still breathing heavily on her knees.
“Sofia, you there?” I asked.
“Yes! Sorry,” she said.
I smiled. “No biggie, just the divinity in your hand is powerful stuff. It was meant only for blessing cloth, so don’t try and bless anything else. You can probably only handle one outfit a day.”
“How do I bless things?” she asked.
Essentially it would be the same basic concept as aura manipulation. I could teach her, but it would be much better for sister to handle that as a warrior.
Speak of the devil, sister arrived holding our breakfasts. For me it was pancakes and bacon today. I needed the energy.
Lillian was still struggling to stand. “Oh my. I was right to come up here.”
I really needed to do something for her. It was getting silly. Drascilla could have just blessed her already. Only a divine blessing could prevent you from feeling the pressure of divinity. Something like what Sofia received would probably take a tiny sliver of the pressure off. Iris might have a similar protection if she was lucky. But with this hair. I smiled thinking about it.
After breakfast, Sofia measured me and sister. The rest of us left to let Sofia do what she does best. Sister said she’d help Sofia with the blessing for me. That left me more open to work on my next project. I could probably make two more girls in our sisterhood happy today with it. But I needed Elise.
Thankful she was awake when I got down stairs. “Sister, would you be willing to help me with something?”
“Sure,” she said. “What are we up to now?”
“Well, what kind of weapon would be good for our Lady?” I asked.
“Probably tonfa,” she said. “Defensive, works well with her strength.”
“Got it,” I said.
Once we got to Elise’s workshop she was banging away at something. Apparently she was making some gardening stuff for Iris. I’d hate to interrupt but this project was urgent. The hair in my bra was starting to burn a bit.
“Sister Elise! I need your help. I have something I want to make for the head maid and our Lady. But I need it made now, and it may be a bit complicated to make,” I said.
“I’m listening,” she said with her usual perky smile.
I explained that I wanted enough better to make tonfa and a bit more for a pair of rings. She got out her bars of metal. I took out the hair. Stretching it out until it was taut. I placed it against the metal pieces and began channeling mana into it. The hair burned into the metal and once it was about half way in, I stopped the flow of mana. It was pinned in the middle.
I then had took out the jar of divinity, one drop into a bowl of water. We needed to soak in a hammer. Divine infused metal wasn’t going to bend against just a normal hammer. I poured the rest of the divine water onto the anvil, which drank it up instantly. Hopefully it was enough for this.
“Incredible,” sister said. “Watching you work, there is really no doubt that you are the magician’s shadow.”
I smiled. “This is going to be the hard part. Elise is not strong enough for this. So sister, I need you to pound the same spot as Elise moved the metal for you to hit it as she needs.”
“Simple enough, rather be doing this than well, you know,” she said.
Elise chuckled. “So will my forge be hot enough?” she asked.
“Once I help it will be,” I said. Normal forge temp could probably handle what we needed. The problem was that Elise’s forge was a one person small forge for her own use. I doubt she had the proper fuel to get it up to it’s true potential. While you can’t start a fire with just mana, feeding one was easy enough.
The three of us worked long into the afternoon. Sister pounding away, me keeping the heat up and Elise moving it into the right position. But finally we got what we wanted. Two Tonfa and two rings. I thought that was going to be way harder. Elise apparently knew both Celeste’s and Master’s ring size just off hand.
“I am exhausted,” Elise said as she sat down.
Sister was rubbing her shoulder. “That was pretty rough. Sister, how long do you think Master is going to keep the ban on me using your names, or you using my names? I know it hasn’t been long but my sense of time just feels so off. It… is hard on me.”
I hugged her. “Let’s go ask him,” I said. “Though, are you done with the resisting?”
“Yeah,” sister said. “I am… his loyal warrior. Yeah I guess that works.”
“Are you mad at me for what I did to you?” I asked.
Is she mad?
