Divine Introduction

As you looked at your ****'s degrading appearance with pride, you heard some mocking clapping coming from the grass at the bottom of the hill. At hearing it, you unsheathed your long sword from your back and Lilryvel grabbed her spear from and moved in front to protect you. Seemed neither of you wanted to deal with any third parties.

When you both saw the person clapping come out of the grass, Lilryvel gasped in fear and dropped down on all her knees and bowed to the ground trembling. Part of you felt like she was right to do that, but couldn't quite figure out why.

The person was a tall woman, with amber red hair, that was adorned in an emerald green gown, that looked like it belong to a queen, and a crown that made it look like she had giant elk horns. The look in the woman's eyes seemed to be a mix of amusement and respect.

"Well done, Alex Moon. It seems you've passed the first test."

You tightened the grip on your sword. How did this woman, who you had never met before, know your name and what test?

"Who are you and how do you know my name? Also, what test?"

Lilryvel looked at you terrified.

"Master, please don't anger her."

The woman chuckled as she seemed to effortlessly walked up the hill and leaned down to pat Lilryvel's head.

"It's okay, little filly. His village doesn't worship me, so he had no way of recognizing me. You may raise, Lilryvel."

As Lilryvel slowly rose, but kept her head bowed, you had a sneaking suspicion who she was and that what you first thought was a crown with horns was just a golden circlet with actually horns protruding from her head.

"Goddess Flidais?"

The woman turned towards you and smirked knowingly.

"Got it on the first try."

You lower your sword and do a slight bow.

"Apologizes for any rudeness. Out here in the wilds, one needs to be careful."

"It is good to have keen survival instincts like that. These lands can be cruel to the careless."

"So what's brings a deity to this region?"

Flidais chuckles as she strokes Lilryvel's mane.

"Glad you ask. It actually has to do with you and a task I have for you."

"What's that?"
