"Right. Now I have another question to ask. What's the deal with you camp?" I inquired.

I explained my quest. Surprisingly, Lilith seemed to take it in stride. She didn't seem angry or annoyed. She merely folded her arms and looked on in contemplation.

"Hmmm...that is quite the predicament," she noted. "Truth be told, I can't say I can honestly help you. I'm the Demon Goddess and the demons are counting on me to lead them. I can't just abandon this trip without reason nor can I properly instruct you on how to help humanity at the risk of betraying my own people."

"I was afraid of that." I sighed. I should have figured it would be difficult. She may be all power but she still technically had her people to rule over.

"I'm sorry." Lilith apologized. "But my hands are tied."

The demons needed to eat. The humans wanted to defend themselves. To warn the humans would incriminate herself in letting a human go and jeopradizing the whole thing. To leave without reason would make her leadership look questionable....but that was still salvageable.

"The onky thing I could possibly do is find a good reason to move my forces away." She spoke up. "We can probably find food elsewhere from the town you reside in, but they need to have a reason not to go to there in the first place." She noted.

"What kind of reason?" I asked.

"Anything that can stop them, competition from a dragon attack, maybe the humans get sick, maybe a natural disaster blocks the path." She admitted.

"Hmmmm....I might have an idea for that." I told her.
