Dinner with the Boss

Arthur’s phone dinged.

An hour later he was walking out of the elevator and onto the penthouse floor of the nicest apartment building he had ever seen(although, his experience on the matter was severely limited).

He knocked on the beautifully decorated double doors that marked the domain of the Violora Domain and waited.

Lexx was in rare form, taking the form of an effortlessly casual, yet eminently fashionable and expensive outfit that was a seamless copy directly from the window of the Sun Coast Consortium.

She had made him stand in front of that window for nearly the whole hour, until he had to drag himself away.

Saris answered the door herself, Arthur noticed.

She wore the same outfit she had been wearing in his office earlier, sans the jacket, and she had rolled her sleeves up to her elbows. The white fabric contrasted with her dark purple skin. Layered over the outfit was a black apron, unstained.

"Arthur! I'm so glad that you could come." She pushed an errant strand of hair behind her ear. Just looking at him made her feel immediately relaxed.

Arthur smiled.

"Absolutely."

Saris beamed.

"Come in, come in."

She practically floated in behind him, ushering him in and showing him to her lavish dining room, where it was Arthur's turn to be surprised. Artfully arranged on the table was a spread that rivaled the greatest Heroes Celebrant Feast Days. There was roasted glistening vegetables, mushrooms mixed in broth cooked rice smouthered in sauce, some kind of whipped dark dessert covered in shavings of delicate chocolate, an entire bowl of steaming bread rolls and pitchers of water and something that smelled dark and sweet. The wave of delicate aromas filled Arthur’s senses and set his mouth watering.

Saris grabbed one hand in hers and led him to a chair at the head of the table.

"Wow, you- you really didn't have to do all this."

"Of course not, but I wanted too." She said with a wink, as she began serving neat portions onto a plate before setting it down in front of him. As she finished she swept the apron off in a smooth graceful motion. Underneath her shirt had seemingly lost four buttons since their conversation that morning. She was perfectly curved, shapely as any man, or women for that matter, could desire. A thin gold chain hung low, glinting brilliantly.

She caught him staring and turned to her own food, pleased.
