Dinner time discussion

The dinner table is lively as always, with everyone chatting all at once. And as always, the food is phenomenal, Mazzy having made a delicious salmon dinner, with spiced potatoes and roasted vegetables. Eventually, though, you need to bring the mood down by explaining what you heard about Kelly’s disappearance.

Each of them responds differently. Sirona, having only heard of Kelly from stories the others tell, has no real opinion on her. Kenna is less ambivalent, having had run ins with her at the diner.

“I don’t see where this is our problem, my mate. After all, didn’t she basically say goodbye during your little meeting? She has her own life now, and you have yours. And us.”

Mazzy shakes her head. “I don’t know, what if we could do something? I know she wasn’t a very good person, but…it seems like she was being pulled in a bad direction.”

You sigh. “She seemed very different when I met up with her last time. But she didn’t seem scared or anything, just calm. And apologetic.”

Dakota shrugs. “I agree with Kenna. She’s not your problem. If the AWIO can’t find her, what could we do? And even if we could find her, what then? You know we’re not exactly big fans of hers.”

Ellie interrupts. “I d-don’t like her either, b-but…I don’t know, it’s kind of s-spooky that she disappeared right after m-meeting with Brian.”

You nod. “Yeah. I hope she’s okay, even if she’s not exactly my favorite person. But Dakota is right, there’s not really anything we can do.”

Sirona gently touches your forearm. “I think…I feel like it says a lot that you want to help, though. Even if she…was not very nice before.”

You smile at the manticore. “Thanks, Sirona. Thanks, all of you. I feel bad about doing nothing, but you’re right, there’s really nothing we can do.”

Dakota grins. “There’s something we can do, but it involves Ellie and I, and the bedroom.”

Ellie blushes and giggles, and you roll your eyes. “Very subtle, Dakota.”

Dakota shrugs. “Sexy is more fun than subtle. Wanna go have wild sex?”

You laugh. “Yes, yes I do.”

Dakota and Ellie hop up immediately, grinning. Dakota winks at you. “Don’t wait too long!”
