Dinner conversation

The food you shared that evening was good. The cooks were clearly breaking in the kitchen and had not felt confident in trying anything to fancy. The staff had started trying to apologize to you for the common nature of your first meal but you shut that down fast. You had always been more of a meat and potatoes preference and while you could appreciate fancy cooking and presentation you really did prefer simple and filling. You looked to your companions to find a mix of reactions. “Ladies I think you should know that while I can appreciate more elaborate food I am perfectly content with what some may consider peasant food. I wish to convey my appreciation to the cooking staff for their excellent work in a new facility and unprepared.”

With that out of the way upper continues peacefully. You field some questions and concerns from your women and ask some of your own trying to get a feel for your new women. You begin to get a better feel for your companions. Sofiel is still weighted down by her excommunication from her goddess but under that cloud of depression you can detect hints of a bright and hopeful woman. If you can help her work through her darkness she may become an excellent emotional smoother and binder within the harem.

Her countrywoman Celestine seems to be in a better mental state. She seems to be working through her anger. Granted you couldn’t be sure but her once hateful glares not had mellowed and seemed to have at least a hint of respect when she looked to Frunda. The fact she had almost no hostility when interacting with the rest of the Kaldgrim natives was excellent. You honestly had to wonder if there was some kind of magic helping smooth the integration. It wold still behove you to keep an eye on everyone.

Fortunately Bixi and Azralynn both seemed to lack any inherent dislike for their fellow women. Though you did have to chuckle at how the had boxed in Jia and were in the middle of a spirited and technical discussion of some of the core differences in their Magic systems. Illenwyn was observing and occasionally contributing to the discussion.

Nyxili is currently holding herself aloof from most of the other women however Elyria and Sephillia look to be working on that aloof streak to get her to open up a little. Tozi and her mother were both watching the rest with caution but were not hiding either. Of the remaining Kalgrim contingent Frunda seems to have them well in hand with Jolka providing a calm note to counterbalance the youthful brashness of Serrilda and and Brynhilder and help draw out Gromna.

Finally Yanme and Taki were un deep discussion about various points of history with Sakura and would occasionally get the others to chime in when there was overlap, it honestly sounded like they were working on this worlds equivalent to the art of war.

As the meal wound down Nyxili looked towards you.

“Dragon lord I have a question.”

“Please ask away.”

“I can not remember if you ever told us your name. What shall we call you?”

The question brings you up short. You blink several times as you run through your memories. No, you never did give a name when you arrived. Well that is awkward, you honestly hadn’t been thinking of a name. Looking up you find everyone looking at you in expectation. Oh boy, ok, no pressure. Fortunately, your new brain is up to the task. Well, it may not be the best but you do get a mental chuckle from the anagram.

“We let’s correct that oversight of mine, I shall go by Nilrem in honor of a great figure in my former peoples history.” Your companions nod at your proclamation, though Sephillia and Elyria both have thoughtful looks as they consider you. Interesting.
