Dinner and a drinking game

"Alright people!" Dani announces, tying her sash around her waist once more as she looks across everyone's faces. "We've got dinner to sort, some **** to drink and some fun to have! Gimme ideas!"

Kate snickers, "How about spin the bottle?"

Christian and Amy both shoot her a glance, and Danielle shakes her head, "Nice try Kate, wrong crowd."

"I disagree, but fair enough, be pussies if you wanna" the goth girl snickers and plants herself on a couch.

"Whatever the plan is I think it's about time we turn the console off." Brianna says with a look towards James, who seems a little bummed out that he has to stop playing games and actually socialise.

"How about this-" Michael steps in, "Given that we're a bit of a mixed bag and some of us aren't all that familiar yet, we try out Never Have I Ever?"

"What's that?" Christian inquires,

Danielle smiles, knowing what is being suggested but gestures for Mike to explain for those in the room unfamiliar,

"Well basically, we each keep some booze on hand, and go around in a circle taking turns. When it's your turn you say, for example; 'Never have I ever slapped someone', and anyone in the circle who HAS done that? Takes a drink." the Australians lays out,

"So you just... talk about stuff other people might have done, and if they have, they drink?" Christian repeats, trying to rationalise it,

"Basically." Mike says,

"But then couldn't someone in the group just target another person by bringing up things that they've done in specific?" Amy questions,

"Sure, but then they might also know things about you and target you back." Dani slides in with the answer, knowing damn well who Amy was referring to just now,

"How do we know who wins?" Christian continues,

"Given the goal is to get to know each other? I'd say everyone wins... well, unless someone hurls" Mike chuckles.

With no one seeming to protest the idea, Dani smiles and locks that in as the game for the evening. Brianna and James don't look completely certain about it, but mostly because they're not huge drinkers. Otherwise everyone seems excited and willing to try it out.

"Alright, next, what about dinner?" Dani moves on, "We've got more stuff for sandwiches but... well I think we should just keep those for lunches. Dad also got us some steak, some vegetables, some cans of soup, bread, bunch of stuff."

"Most of that needs like, actual cooking though right? I mean, how many of us even cook our own dinners at this point?" Kate chimes in, most of the group fidgeting with their fingers or rubbing the backs of their heads in response.

"I mean, I cook for myself and my Dad" Michael shrugs, "Nothing crazy but, steaks'll be easy"

"Well well, looks like it was a good idea to have you along" Dani comments, "Do you mind cooking though? You don't have to"

Michael waves her off, "No stress, shouldn't take me longer than an hour. You all get comfortable in the meantime, I might just take a shower to get the pool water off of me first. Then I'll get started"

"Good idea" Christian agrees, "I might catch one too"

The group disbands for the moment, Christian and Amy deciding to share a shower downstairs, while Michael takes one in the bathroom he and Dani both use, while the brunette waits with Kate to take their turns. Brianna and James linger, sticking together as seems to be their habit for the time being, waiting for the group to reconvene.
