Chapter 5 by AnthroLover AnthroLover

What is growing up for Orga?

Difficult, but he manages

Being a hybrid is hard in a world judgmental and filled with racism and bigotry. Still, somehow Orga managed to grow up okay. Mostly due to the great efforts of his father, who did the best to raise him and his sister, especially after their mother died when they were still babies.

Since he was young, Orga needed a bit of production before he was to leave the house. He needed to wear clothes that covered his arms and legs, his back and hide the base of his tail, as his fur would immediately give away his nature as a hybrid. He also had always to wear hats and hoods, to hide his furry wolf-ears. He preferred the hoods, once the hats pressed on hs ears and made it harder to hear. The clothes also were a little bothersome, once they made him feel hot for wearing them, as he was not cold blooded like his father.

Still, Orga learned to always wear them, as the times where he went out without them people would stare at him, walk away from him, or even yell at him. Kids would also make fun of him for his ears and sometimes throw things at him.

Orga didn't liked when they did that, so he learned to deal with the hotness so people wouldn't be mean to him.

However, growing up was not a pain to Orga. Not at all.

He had a family who loved him very much. He had a father who was always there for him, and was always willing to do whatever it took to see Orga smile, and who awlays told Orga how proud he was of him. He also had a sister, who was his best friend in the world, and who would always be walking by his side and playing with him.

With their help, Orga was able to grow happy and develop an optimist personality. He was always the "happy little lizard" of all of his classes, and he was very smart. Of course, there were a few incidents when his hat fell off revealing his ears that made it harder to make friends, and made even some of the teachers treat him different, but with his family by his side, Orga was able to push it all aside and grow up with a positive outlook in life.

He didn't really minded if everyone else was against him. He knew that his family would never treat him differently.

However, that was not entirely right.

Leano started acting different with Orga and with their father.

It started subtly, with her saying that she was going to a friend's house spend the night, and saying that there was no space for Orga to go along. Orga was a bit upset for not spending the night with his sister, but he was okay with that.

It eventually escapated. Soon there were more and more times when Leano would say that there was "no space for Orga" or that "he wouldn't feel confortable in there", or another one of those excuses.

By the time they were both twelve, there were no more excuses. Leano would just look him in the eye and say "I don't want you to come", and simply leave like that.

And it was not only with him, as Orga could notice that she was also acting different with Gosha, as she didn't wanted to be seen with him in front of the school, and didn't wanted him to come to the parents meetings and neither for Profession Day.

At some point, Orga realized that Leano had been telling the people on their school that they were not brothers, and that he and Gosha were just "some lizards who lived in her building". Finding that out really hurt Orga, and he didn't wanted his father to hurt like that too, so he didn't told him that Leano was telling the other kids that they were not her family.

Gradually, the brother and sister who were so close as kids grew apart, as they didn't even talked or crossed paths in school. Even at home, their interaction was getting more distant, as Leano seemed to want to spend less and less time with her brother. Orga didn't tried to push it, for if Leano didn't wanted to be near him, he would respect her wishes. However, Orga didn't stopped loving his sister, and he knew that he would always be there for her if she needed him.

By the time they were both eighteen, Leano suffered a change, as the fur on her back had started falling off to reveal scales.

Gosha tried to talk to her about it, only to be shut off immediately. Orga then tried to talk to her, to make her happy and smile, only to be receive with silence and coldness. Still, he wanted to try and help his sister, even if she spent hours on her room without coming out for anything.

On that same year, came great news.

Orga was going to be an uncle.

Orga's nephew and adult life
