Chapter 26

What now?

Devising a plan

"Well, this has to be the most humiliating moment of my life..." Jane muttered, red faced as she covered herself with her hands.

Liara mimicked her bondmate's movements as her cheeks turned purple. "What about the time you got drunk at that bar on The Citadel and lost that bet with Traynor? Where you had to run around the bar for three hours wearing only paper towels that were folded in a way to make it look like a makeshift - "

"Okay! The second most humiliating moment of my life!" Jane quickly cut off Liara's question, giving the Asari a small, annoyed frown as her face got redder. "And I thought we agreed to NEVER speak of that incident again."

"Sorry."

Jane sighed. "Never mind." She said, "Right now, we need to find a way to hopefully not be seen and get back inside."

"Well, we can't exactly barge in." Liara pointed out, "Not with my father and your mother still inside."

"Yeah, that would raise a lot of awkward questions." Jane commented. Looking around, the Commander smiled at the skycar parked out front. "The skycar! We can use that to go get clothes. Or at the very least, hide until our parents leave."

"That's an idea." Liara said, "However, we don't have the keys on us right now, so the alarm would alert our parents to any would be thieves."

"Right..." Jane groaned, "And it's not like we have any credits to actually buy clothes. And if, by some miracle, we do break in and hotwire the thing before our parents catch us, all it'll take is just one officer pulling us over. So, yeah; skycar's out."

"I remember Miranda saying that she and Jack set up a vacation home a mile from here." Liara said, "A 'Love Shack', as Jack so elegantly put it. If they're home, we can just ask them for help. If not, we break in and borrow some of their clothes."

"You want us to hike a mile through the woods, completely naked, to the vacation home of two friends?" Jane asked, eyebrow raised. "One of whom, I may add, will never let us live this down, provided that they're even home? And I don't suppose you've forgotten about Eezo, who will most likely be guarding the place if his "Mommies" step out for a bit?"

"Well, do you have another idea?" Liara asked, raising an eyebrow of her own.

Jane sighed as she looked around again, noticing a series of bushes. "We can just wait it out in those bushes until they leave."

Liara gave a look. "Seriously? And what if they think we stepped out and decide to wait for us to get back?"

"Point." Jane conceded, before adding, "Counterpoint: I know that your father is not the patient type. She'll get bored of waiting soon enough, and my mom will follow."

Neither option sounded particularly appealing to the two, but they both new they didn't have much of a choice either. So, begrudgingly, the two lovebirds weighed their options, deciding on what to do...

Do they hike to Jack and Miranda's? Or hide in the bushes, hoping their parents leave?
