Dev tries to use Gaslight on Emma

Dev decided that while they were alone, this might be a good chance to subjugate Emma to his powers. To start, he was going to lightly Gaslight Emma.

"God, it's really hot in here isn't it? I'm going to unbutton my top button here, it just feels hot all of a sudden. Don't you agree?" Dev croaked in his powered-up voice.

Emma looked confused. "No... no I disagree. I'm generally a very cold person. You can probably tell, really," Emma gestured at the scarf she always wore on top of her office clothes, "but maybe if you're feeling a bit hot, go refresh yourself a bit?"

Dev replied, slightly desperately, "No, I just think it's really hot. Isn't the AC broken? I think we might all have to sit in the office sweaty today. Its gonna be annoying with all those layers, maybe you'll feel better without that scarf today? You know what I mean?" Dev started to stare at Emma intently, edging to see some more of her skin as he undid his top button and loosened his tie, but he wasn't getting what he wanted here.

"No Dev, I think I'm fine with my scarf on, thank you. Listen, I know you probably mean well, but maybe just go to the restroom and take 5 before you come back. That meeting might have been a bit much but you're acting strange. Are you sure you don't have a fever or something?Hopefully you can fix yourself up, or go home and rest this afternoon if you don't think you can manage." Dev felt frustrated. Not only did his Gaslighting not worked, but his desperation only made him look weird to her. Damn it! This isn't like me! I'm always the cool, calm and collected type, these powers are throwing me off! Dev took a minute to gather himself before returning to his department. He thought it best to focus on work for the rest of the week.

Reputation -30. Emma ranks higher in the Corporate Ladder and so has higher Resolve. Dev's powers cannot work on her.
