Detention (Male)

Sam groaned as he made his way to the detention room. His inner voice was nagging him for going along with the senior prank. At the time, it had seemed like a harmless thing to do. Nobody got hurt, and everyone laughed. But apparently, all the people on the faculty who had the power to punish happened to disagree.

As he strolled the down the corridor, Sam ran into Mrs. Cassidy. "Sorry, Sam, but the rooms here are all full. You'll have to come with me to the gym."

"The gym?" Sam repeated. "But that's where all the girls are having their punishment."

Mrs. Cassidy let out a sigh. "Look, Sam, if it were up to me and the other teachers watching detention, this wouldn't happen. I don't even know why they separated the genders in the first place. But our decision was overruled."

Sam reluctantly followed Mrs. Cassidy to the gymnasium. He silently wondered who was responsible for assigning nearly the entire senior year this kind of punishment. He dearly hoped they would get some kind of retribution for this. Maybe if he asked Dana, she'd be willing to help him find out who it was and get some payback.

For now, he just needed to endure.
