Depart for the ring

Evening comes, and after a quick bite to eat, you and Irina head for that same house that you saw last night. By sunset, you've relocated it.

Knock knock knock. Moments later, "password?" "A bird in two hands." The door opens, the two of you enter, yesterday's doorman greets you. "Ah, welcome back. Figured out what you want to buy?" "Yes, something like that." The two of you are led down the long stairway into the showroom, where once again about twenty slaves stand like some daemon's idea of property. Now that you're back here, it's all you can do to contain your anger - not that you'll need to for long. You ready your hand to pull out the scroll of Geas, and approach the bodyguards; you nod to Irina, who's on the other side of them.

"Help us free the slaves against the other bodyguard." And with that, the scroll disappears from your hand, vanishing in a cloud of ash. With that, he turns to his companion, "let's end this; cut the operation and run. It's only a matter of time before the guard catches up with us." "What, are you crazy? With the money we've made so far, we could run a small empire in half a year more." The guard you charmed draws his sword and swings a few times at his former friend, resulting in said "friend" doing the same. You nod your head, using the scroll of Summon Celestial, causing an angel to appear next to you, which then proceeds to shoot two golden arrows at the hostile bodyguard; both bodyguards look your way. "See, even the gods are against this!"

"Fred, you fool. That's just a summon." "FOCUS ON THE BITCH NEXT TO THE FUCKING ANGEL, GUARDS!" Oh dear. Irina swings at the hostile bodyguard twice, infusing a blast of golden light into each strike. The guards all rush towards you, however the layout proves it difficult to reach you; only two of the thugs manage to get to you in the immediate, with only one swinging at you, although its blow does knock part of the wind out of you.

Back to the top of the next round of fighting, Fred swings on his former ally, landing two solid blows against him. Fred's former friend responds in kind, landing a nasty hit which knocks Fred's weapon clean out of his hand, and a second glancing blow. Irina lands two more hits, causing Fred's friend to cry out in pain as two more flashes of golden light go out from the strikes. The angel then fires two more golden arrows, one such arrow reaching the hostile bodyguard. From the looks of things, he seems to be on his last leg, but you've got bigger things to worry about: half a dozen thugs coming after you. Not really wanting to die, you take a defensive stance, causing only one of the dozen strikes to actually make contact with you.

The enemy bodyguard falls **** in the next round, causing Irina to run over to help you. Fred, meanwhile, starts releasing slaves — and with the thugs all focused on you, no one attempts to stop him. Your angel summon, meanwhile, flies up and shoots a couple of arrows at one of the thugs. Combat continues like this, with Irina and the angel attacking, and you dodging. The angel does vanish, however, after just a few more seconds. With the thugs all knocked out, you notice that all the slaves that had been on pedestals are now free, and Fred is nowhere to be seen.

The next few days are spent trying to figure out who the former slaves are (after getting them some clothes), and where they belong. Many of them grew up in the streets and don't really have a place they can rightly call home; these ones take a bit more time, but the other half you manage to reconnect to their homes rather quickly. Eventually, and not really knowing what else to do, you send the remaining people to the temple: you figure that the temple will know what to do.
