Denial

I opened my eyes to find myself gazing out across the moonlit night at a world that no longer belonged to me. I stretched my arms above my head and yawned, letting the forest breeze blow through my hair, now long and lustrous, falling to the small of my back. My reflection too was no longer my own, or it was but, rather it was unfamiliar to me.

Gone was the day old stubble from traveling on the road. My features, never paragons of masculinity in the first place we’re now dainty, graceful and feminine.

Looking back at me from the moonlit pool was a creature of such beauty that I would have fallen to my knees if I wasn't already there. I did not know this creature, but I knew that she was me.

Gently I lifted her- my chin and gazed into my reflection’s emerald eyes. My frame was always slight but now it held a grace and seduction that I had never known before. And I had breasts! Breasts! Goddess above, I had breasts! I loosened my shirt. Let it sound crass, I squeezed them with giddy, giggling, gleeful delight, as the dam broke and I realized that now I was in the form that taunted my innermost desire, my true shape made flesh.

“I see thee have begun to enjoy the pleasures of thine new flesh.”

I whirled around, and I found myself face to face with the beautiful fox. She had a wild expression on her face, half mischief, half desire. Her four tails flicked with amusement.

She stepped toward me and raised her paw, a gesture of invitation, as if she were offering me something precious.

"Why did you lead me here? What do you want with me?"

Her lips curled into a smile, "The pool has revealed to thee thine own innermost desire, a kindness for rescuing me from the hunter’s snare. And as to thine second question, I would show you the hidden secrets of thine new form. An invitation that I extended freely and without hidden obligation.”
