Chapter 25

What's next?
Delayed gratification
"Those look amazing" you admit in a low breath, staring longingly at Clodaghs inviting tits. You've already violated your monogamy with Joan, you don't need to add this to your ledger. "But this is improper"
"Oh, I'm sure I know how to do it properly" She kept at it and tried again to free your cock.
"Not that" you respond quickly as your orc hands gently push hers away "it's just that there's a lot more ahead of us. If you really feel you need to thank me this way, let's wait until after we get your ring back"
Clodagh pulled back and nodded, returning to her feet and dusting sand off. "That's a very sensible way of thinking about things. Let's get going" She grabbed her ragged clothes and tied them back on, adding a spare comment in the process "you know, sensible men have a tendency to turn me on. I'll hold you to that idea." Spanking her own ass for your viewing, she led the way off the beach of the lake and into the city center.
The shop of the Three Brothers was quaint, in the the northmost point of a five way intersection. With the size and prominence of Drez, there wouldn't be a lot of room for disreputable business, and this one didn't seem to fit the bill. There was an intricate sign hanging out the window of the three brothers, showing the humans who ran the establishment so even the illiterate would know which shop was there.
This made the entrance all the more surprising, seeing three quarrelsome Goblins on step stools behind the counter, yelling at each other in their own garbled language. Seeing you, the center one shoved the others as he pointed in your direction. The argument, whatever it was, was dropped immediately, and large smiles came upon each of them, showing their triangular, daggger like teeth.
"Good evening!" He proclaimed loudly with great, seemingly **** enthusiasm "Welcome to Three Brothers Trading! Whatever you need, we have"
"And if we don't have it, we can get it! Guranteed!"
"Uhm, that's great news" You reply cautiously. "You're not exactly the three brothers we expected..."
"Under new management!" The one on the right said, as over eager as his siblings "They wanted out, we wanted in. Fair Trade! Guaranteed!"
"Than why not change the sign outside the door?" Clodagh asked
"Can't reach it!" The one on the right responded quickly "We have everything you need, except a ladder!" Clodagh and you look at each other and give each other a faint shrug.
"Gentlemen" You begin diplomatically "We're in a bit of a situation. We've been informed someone came in recently and sold you a ring"
Before you could continue, one loudly interrupts "We've got all sorts of rings. Nix, get the ring box!"
"The Ring Box!" He replies, quickly running to get it. Large and wooden, hoisting it up onto the counter is an effort for him. Clodagh, lacking patience and discretion, grabs it and opens the box. In a move that surprised you, the goblins took good care of their products, having them kept them clean and in well organized. Her eyes moving swiftly, the redhead's emotions were quickly getting ahead of her. "I don't understand, it's not here. My ring's not here."
"Could you describe the item? If we don't have what you're looking for, we know a number of folks in the crafting guild. We can help you get a piece commissioned for you..."
"Shut up!" Clodagh responded fiercely, slamming her fist against the counter, startling the diminuitive shopkeeps. "It was a magical ring. Made of gold, with two gemstones embedded in the metal itself. One green, one blue. Opposite sides, so you could never see both at the same time."
"The ring was stolen from my friend here" You add in "it was given to her as a gift from someone very special. Please, we need your help"
The three goblins turn towards each other, all with worry and regret in their eyes.
"We are greatly sorry that we had anything to do with this matter. We make a point not to work in stolen goods"
"Guaranteed!" The brother who piped in with this quickly found an elbow.
"Someone came in earlier today and bought that ring. It's out of our hands, literally."
Nix, the one who grabbed the rings, spoke up "To show you our sincerity, you may take any of these other rings. I promise, none of these are stolen."
You looked at Clodagh, who seemed to be struggling to hold it together. You put your hand on hers, and spoke for her "That's a kind offer, but we'll decline, at least for now. If you can describe the person who bought the ring, that would be a big help."
"Oh, sure! Elvy lad. Fancy clothes, Blonde hair, wore glasses. Seemed to be in a big hurry. Lots of plans"
"Did you catch his name? Where he was headed?"
"He asked for recommendations for food. Dinner for two, he said."
You looked at the clock on the wall to see it was indeed approaching that time of day. It was a long shot, but it was the only shot left.
"Thank you, my green skinned friends" The words, coming from an orc like yourself, put smiles back on their faces "If you can direct me to where you sent him, we will both be in your debt. I promise, if we find this ring, we'll return and make it worth your while..."
Where did the elf go?
